Meet the Author

Joy Smith is the published author of six adult-oriented books, including The Empty Nest Cookbook and Oh, No, They're Engaged! Her inspiration to write children's book came from her grandchildren, who love reading about small animals and sea critters. Her stories are analogies to help children deal with relationships, friendships, and just plain growing up.

Joy holds a B.S, Degree in Home Economics-Education from the University of Connecticut, which included courses on family relationships. She lives with her husband in Connecticut. When she is not working on a manuscript, she enjoys sailing, concocting recipes, crocheting prayer shawls, and spoiling her grandchildren. Joy loves to hear from readers. Reach her through her website at www.joysmith.net.
