Overview

Jocelyn, a 12 year old girl, must deal with feelings of rejection both in her family as her parents separate and head for divorce and in a new neighorhood as she struggles to make friends. Her efforts to adapt to new circumstances lead her to many adventures. Due to Jocelyn's own curiosity and courage she finds ways to pull her world together and in the process gains friends and creates community.

About the Author

Gail Gilkey has been writing for 15 years and has four picture books, two middle grade novels and and adult book published. She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. She likes to write about kids who are different and need to figure things out for themselves. Ms. Gilkey has a MS degree from Columbia University and lives in Rhode Island with her husband and two children.
