PRAISE FOR USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR JENNIFER HAYMORE:

"Each time Ms. Haymore writes a book in this series I think there is no way to top the one I just finished. I started this latest one and realize she has done just that and has proven to me how fresh this series can remain. The characters of Becky and Jack are so full of life and longing just trying to make the right connection between family, relationship and future happiness while figuring out who to trust with all their secrets. This is a wonderful story and while I recommend reading the 1st two it is not imperative as Jennifer Haymore is a magician at connecting the plot from one book to the next— but trust me you will have to buy the first two, they are that good."—The Reading Reviewer (www.marygramlich.com)

"Jennifer Haymore strikes a good balance of strength, sensuality, drama and intrigue in her characters...Becky is an independent, fearless woman except when it comes to opening her heart to another man. Bundle up with a wonderful romantic book this holiday season

Lady Rebecca Fisk was a widow looking for a little adventure and adventure was exactly what Jack Fulton needed. Added to the fact that Becky was beautiful, intelligent and rich help Jack justify what he was about to do and the scandal he would create. He was a man with a problem and all he needed to do to resolve his looming problem was to marry into money. He tried to convince himself that he only wanted Becky for her dowry because right now that is what would give him a ticket to freedom but something else was drawing him to her that he could not identify and scared him to the bone and made him want no other woman just Becky.

Becky had been duped by her late husband and lived with the misery that relationship brought and knew better than to trust anyone but her family ever again. But one taste of Jack's sweetness and she realizes that she will listen to the plan he is devising and may just take a leap of faith and trust him. Yet how far will she let this go and will he convince her that marriage is the respectable resolution to the issue they have created? Jack is saying all the right words and makes more than the correct gestures to woo her but she had suffered emotionally and physically while married to her late husband and to this day bears the scars and damage he wrecked upon her body and soul.

Jack has known suffering as well through the loss of family and young love but he still needs to grab onto that one person that can put a salve on his heart and help him love again and Becky may just be the one he has searched for. He does his best to get his way but every time he gets close to sealing the deal another disaster looms over their relationship slams the door on any happiness. Still Jack hopes this will work out as he plans and spends his time trying to make Becky see that even with his past indiscretions that their life together will be filled with joy and no secret will be held back.

Each time Ms. This is a wonderful story and while I recommend reading the 1st two it is not imperative as Jennifer Haymore is a magician at connecting the plot from one book to the next but trust me you will have to buy the first two they are that good.

    an engaging nineteenth century romance

In 1827 England, widower Lady Rebecca Fisk deems it is time for her to find a lover. Her only stipulation besides not being abusive is the hunk she selects must not want marriage. She figures adventurer Jack Fulton is the perfect candidate for her first lover.

Jack meets Rebecca's stipulations as he likes trysts with no entanglements. However, his circumstances change when needs to marry a wealthy woman by Christmas or be accused of being a killer. He thinks Rebecca fits his requirement so takes her away on a tryst in which he plans to get her to marry him, which she agrees to do. However, once Jack's dark secret surfaces at the same time as his love for Rebecca, he must choose freeing her from his scandal or taking a chance she loves him too.

A Season of Seduction is an engaging nineteenth century romance enhanced by Jack's secret. Fast-paced, Becky and Jack have different needs that converge into a love that seems too late as he knows he will be married or dead by Christmas. Fans will appreciate Jennifer Haymore's strong historical as Lady Rebecca learns she doesn't know Jack, but he also learns he does not know his Becky.

A DELIGHTFU HISTORICAL ROMANCE FOR THE CHRISTMAS SEASON!

A SEASON OF SEDUCTION by Jennifer Haymore is a delightful historical romance set in 1827 London. It is well written with depth, details, page turner, and full of action. It has romance, intrigue, adventure, action, passion, secrets, betrayal, sensuality, trust, facing your past and moving toward your future. The hero, Jack is handsome, an adventurer, a playboy, has a dreaded past, being blackmailed by a so called friend, and needs the dowry of the beautiful widow, Rebecca. The heroine, Rebecca, is a widow, beautiful, been emotional scarred, wants a grand romance, wealthy, intelligent, and doesn't want to get married again. ENTER...Jack who is convinced he only wants Rebecca's dowry. He soon realizes he is actually falling in love with her but he must have her dowry to stay alive before Christmas. Rebecca although a scandal has occurred between she and Jack has refused his marriage proposal. He woos her with pretty words and gestures until she agrees to marry him for she has fallen deeply in love with him. She learns the night before her wedding day of his betrayal and decides to run away to her mother's family home. Jack in the mean time go to his blackmailer and tells him he will not betray Rebecca he will face his past and the consequences. When he arrives at Rebecca's he learns of her disappearances and is determined to find her, tell her the truth, for he has also fallen in love with her. What happens his truly amazing, he gets shot, nearly loses his life and limb. In the end the truth will prevail. This is a wonderful, delightful story of trust, betrayal, truth, facing the past, the consequence and finding true love. I would highly recommend this book especially if you enjoy a truly great story of love and faith. I would also recommend her other two books A Touch of Scandal and A Hick of Wicked, for they are in reference to the same family but all can be read as a stand alone. This book was reviewed for review from the publisher and details can be found at Forever an imprint of Grand Central Publishing and My Book Addiction and More.

    Cute.

A Season of Seduction is the third book in Ms. Haymore's Tristan Family series. I read the 2nd book, A Touch of Scandal (my review here), and really liked the heroine of this book, Rebecca.

As the story opens, Lady Rebecca (Becky) is about to embark on an assignation with Jack Fulton, a sailor recently embarked in London, whom she's become almost intimately acquainted with. Whom she wants to be intimately acquainted with. After the death of her husband four years ago, Rebecca hasn't wanted anyone like she wants Jack. She knows it's improper, but with the help of her dear friend, Cecelia, she's arranged to be with him tonight - alone. Things are moving right along, and then...her brother bursts into the hotel room and catches them, undressed and in bed together! Of course there's an audience to her disgrace, and she knows propriety dictates that she accept Jack's proposal of marriage. The problem is, she just can't do it.

Lady Rebecca's last marriage was so horrible, she doesn't ever want to be married again. He wooed her and convinced her he loved her, then planned to kill her for her money! She never wants to be dependent on a man again. What she doesn't know is that Jack needs to marry her because he is being blackmailed; he needs her dowry. He's got a history he's briefly told her about, but didn't give her all the facts, and is trying to manipulate her into marriage.

I enjoyed A Season of Seduction, Ms. Haymore's writing is descriptive - I could picture the events as they were unfolding. I liked Becky, and I wanted to like Jack, but I just couldn't. He was earnest and he loved her, but when you got down to it, he was using her. I was frustrated that when he finally decided to tell her the truth, his first thought is that his family would help him with his "issues" - that seemed kind of smarmy to me.

My feelings about the hero aside, it was a good story. Becky was a sweet heroine, and it was nice to see the characters from the previous book. (It can definitely be read as a stand-alone though) We met some new characters, Becky's friend Cecelia, and Jack's friend, Lord Stratford, whom I hope to see in the next book :)
