Sometimes love is right where you left it.

Sadie Hart has a plan: return to her small town of Hope Springs so she can regain her confidence-and bank account-before giving one more shot to her country music dream. The dream that means more to her than anything. The dream she chose over her high school sweetheart, the brooding and sinfully handsome Royce Dixon.

Royce has moved on from his memories of the beautiful Sadie. Now he's focused solely on running Second Chance Ranch, where he rehabilitates troubled teens through ranch work. But when he needs a new employee and Sadie's the only one to volunteer, he has no choice but to offer his old flame a job.

Whether riding a horse with the wind in her hair or mucking out the stalls, Sadie can still get Royce's heart beating like no one else. But Nashville is her dream, and Royce can't settle for second best.

Originally posted on my blog: Tangled Up In Books I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. In no way did that sway my review or my rating! This book. This book! From the moment I started it all the way to the very end this book was read with a huge grin on my face. Second Chance Ranch is the second book I've read by Cindi Madsen and has solidified the fact that she is now one of my must buy everything type of authors. Both books I've read so far just make me happy as I read them and I can't wait to buy more of her work and lose myself. Her characters are so rich and lovable. And you fall in love with all of them. From Sadie and Royce all the way to Cory and Quinn their best friends and even the kids at the ranch and Sadie's grandpa had me as well. It's not often where I find an entire book filled with characters that make me want to jump inside and stay there. Each having their own personalities and quirks that leap from the pages. I love how second chances is a theme that runs through this book on different levels. Not only do you have this relationship between Sadie and Royce which grabbed hold of my heart and refused to let go. But you have Sadie with her musical dreams and you also have a group of really awesome troubled teens at the ranch that Royce runs. Well at least two of which you get to know a bit in the book. It all made for a very sweet and heartwarming book that I was sad to finish because I didn't want it to end. I realized in getting this review ready that I have a 3rd Cindi Madsen book already on my better believe I'm going to jump on that one and get it read as soon as possible. I can't wait to read more of this series and anything else she writes for that matter. Thank you Entangled for allowing me to read and review this book!!!

This is a great cowboy romance with a great cast of characters, from Sadie's family to Royce and his mom and the teens they work with on the ranch. Loved the ranch setting, too. This sweet romance was a quick read that left me with a big smile on my face.

I loved this book so much I couldn't put it down! A very well written story about second chances and following your heart. You can't help but fall in love with Sadie and Royce. Both are very likable characters that are still in love with the other but afraid of getting hurt again. Cindi Madsen does a great job of letting the reader see both perspectives in a way that works very well and flows smoothly throughout the book.

I really loved this book! It's a heartwarming second chance story with fabulous characters and a storyline that has you rooting for the H/h from the very start. Luke and Sadie had a young love that we all would want but different dreams tore them apart. But on the Second Chance Ranch anything is possible. Once I started this I couldn't put it down, I think everyone will enjoy it. I highly recommend it.

Rating: 3.5 Stars! This was just adorable! Even though these books are short, I still find most of them to be realistic and many feel like a whole story. And after reading the synopsis, I knew I wanted this one. Country music is my addiction, and I'd already met Sadie back in Accidentally Married on Purpose, and I couldn't wait for her story. I was not disappointed with miss Sadie Hart. She's a genuine, down-to-earth gal who's trying to make it in the competitive country music scene. And when it doesn't work out, she's forced to go back to the place she couldn't wait to leave behind to lick her wounds and figure out her next step. She's able to have some much needed downtime, and being away from the Nashville scene makes her feel like herself again, like she can breathe without someone there telling her what she needs to do to make it big. And there she finds Royce Dixon, her high school sweetheart and the guy she left behind to pursue her dreams. Royce was a bit harder to figure out, a guy who keeps his emotions locked down and his personality contained. He's fighting hard to save the ranch and Second Chance, the rehabilitation program that his dad founded and his mom runs now. It's hard with there only being the two of them, and Royce doesn't want to let down his mom or ruin the dream his dad worked so hard to make come true. He's a little embittered, and his grief makes him feel like he's not doing enough. But he is, and he's worked tirelessly to keep the ranch and program going. But Sadie's return threatens his carefully constructed walls and the heart that hasn't stopped loving her. I love stories about high school sweethearts, and I love stories about second chances. And I got two of my favorite tropes in one book! Sadie and Royce were in love when they were teens; their relationship was genuine then, full of feelings that both of them knew meant forever. But sometimes relationships end, and two ex-high school sweethearts travel down different roads but end up meeting again at a crossroads. And the love that had blossomed between them in high school became even deeper and more passionate as adults. Both Sadie and Royce had to let go of old hurts, resentments, and regrets to remember what they had and that they deserved a second chance. And I adored the secondary characters, like Sadie's family and Royce's mom. And I also loved the story-line involving the rehabilitation program and the kids that show up in the beginning stubborn and with an attitude but end up leaving with smiles on their faces and an experience that changes their hearts.  Second Chance Ranch was a sweet and adorable story about love, life, new dreams, and second chances. :)

Reviewed for Read Your Writes Book Reviews by Kim Sadie Hart and Royce Dixon were high school sweethearts, who had their futures planned out. Unfortunately, they had different ideas of what the future was. Sadie had dreams of making it big in Nashville. Royce’s dream was simply to train horses and do the rodeo circuit. He ended up taking over running Second Chance Ranch with her mother after his father’s death. The two reconnect when Sadie returns to Hope Springs, Wyoming penniless and in need of a job. Royce just so happens to need to find a female employee or risk losing the ranch. The two never expected their long dormant feelings to resurface so quickly or strongly. Just when things are looking good for these two, the lure of fame comes knocking. Sadie is going to have to decide if a life with Royce in Hope Springs is the dream she’s wanted all along or not. Cindi Madsen’s Second Chance Ranch is a wonderful second chance love story. With likeable lead and secondary characters, this is a really good introduction to a new series. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next. **Received a copy from Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest unbiased opinion.**

I love when authors join forces and create crossover characters in their books. We first meet Sadie Hart in Rachel Harris's Accidentally Married on Purpose, where she makes a very brief cameo to sing at Blue's induction to the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. Fellow Bliss author, Cindi Madsen, has written us Sadie's story and I will just tell you up front. I loved it. Second Chance Ranch drew me in right away and I could not get enough of Sadie and Royce together! My heart broke for Sadie. After leaving her family, high school boyfriend, and her home behind to head to Nashville to pursue a singing career, she now finds herself back where she started. She still has her family and her home, but her high school boyfriend was one of the sacrifices she had to make to try and follow her dreams. Being back home to get her bearings straight, causes old memories to resurface of a time where her and Royce were happy and completely head over heels in love. Now, there is a tension between them and Royce is determined not to let the beautiful, blonde woman he once loved back into his heart. Royce has his own problems to deal with, as the ranch he and his mother run desperately needs a woman employee to help avoid any potential scandals or credibility problems. Second Chance Ranch is a place where troubled teens are sent to learn what hard, honest work is and also to provide them with the encouragement they need to turn their lives around. Royce finds himself at a crossroads, as Sadie needs a job and he seems to be the only one who actually has work. She knows the ranch well and he has gotten a glimpse of her briefly interacting with one of the tough to crack kids there. He knows she won't plan to stick around long anyway, so as long as he keeps things professional between them, they should be able to make a go of it. I love second chance romances. Sadie and Royce still have that spark and they are genuinely good for one another. It's easy to fall back into old ways and remember how good they used to be together. The last thing Royce expects is to fall for her again, especially after having his heart broken by her so many years ago. It's a slow fall though. Madsen doesn't rush their relationship, which made it feel that much more meaningful and important, as it's the real thing. The ending was perfection and I love what Royce did at the rodeo. It was one of those perfect moments that could be straight out of a movie. I cannot recommend this book enough because it's just a sweet love story that will leave your heart happy and full.

Cute short story of second chances. The love story is sweet. The romance scenes are suggestive so you do not feel any passion between the two. The implied romance could use a little more description while maintaining modesty. If you are looking for a good wholesome love story then you will enjoy this one.

Love, love, love this book!! Cowboys and country singers, a great combo and the chemistry between Royce and Sadie is sweet but hot. The back drop is the Second Chance Ranch, run by Royce and his mom after his dad's death. His ex Sadie comes back into town after leaving 6 years ago to live her dream of being a country singer. She's had some tough breaks and came home to be with her family. She starts to work for Royce and the feelings that never died start to rekindle. Will she give up Royce again for the lure of a contract? Cindi Madsen never disappoints...she's a go-to author for me!Read all her Bliss/Entangle books :) ARC given by publisher for an honest review.

I was flipping through my TBR list and thought ' what they hay' for this one and gave it a go. So glad I did because it was exactly what I needed at that moment, which was a super sweet romance with a gorgeous cowboy. Young love is a tricky thing and often it is something that goes into our 'what if ' folder in life when we let things go because we are too young to appreciate or understand the importance of it. For Royce and Sadie they had it all but Sadie wanted more so she walked away at 18 years old aiming for the stars. Six years later with her tail between her legs she comes and is forced to face her past and her biggest regret. For Royce once burnt, he is reluctant to open up to the idea of Sadie especially since she plans on leaving again soon anyways, but the pull between them is too much to deny. After giving in both are scared and don't communicate but they both work at second chance ranch so why not live what they preach. As always this was a great book from Cindi Madsen. It was easy and sweet and left me happy after reading it.

Are you a romance junkie at heart? Looking for a quick enjoyable read? Well I think you'll love Second Chance Ranch by Cindi Madsen. Sadie and Royce’s story is a second chance romance. And I was happy to find that it took time for Sadie and Royce to warm up to each other the second time around. It wasn't just another oh I'm so glad that I found you again, let's just rekindle this flame without dealing with the past. No, Sadie and Royce had to work a little this time around before they began to act on the sparks that were flying, which created a realistic story in which Royce was cautious and Sadie struggled with finding her happy place in life--Royce's arms versus a singing career or both. At times the story took on a serious tone as they both struggled with their feelings, but overall it was a fun, sweet romance novel. Other books I've read by Cindi Madsen are All the Broken Pieces and Act like You Love Me. I simply love the character development in her stories and the captivating storylines that leave you wanting more. Needless to say, I am looking forward to reading future work by this author. Actual Rating 4.5/5 I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review, thank you.

3.75 stars--SECOND CHANCE RANCH is the first instalment in Cindi Madsen’s contemporary Hope Springs romance series focusing on the people of Hope Springs, Wyoming. This is Royce Dixon and country singer Sadie Hart’s second chance storyline. The premise follows Sadie and Royce as they dance around their attraction to one another. With her country music career floundering Sadie returns home to Hope Springs where she will find a job working at The Second Chance Ranch for at-risk teens. Royce Dixon, her high school sweetheart and former lover is the owner and manager of the Second Chance Ranch and Sadie is hoping to rekindle their relationship-if only for a short time. The attraction between our leading couple has never wavered. Six years earlier Royce asked Sadie for her hand in marriage but Sadie had dreams of making it big in Nashville. Broken hearted, Royce has never forgotten about Sadie but seeing her again brings back too many painful memories. He knows Sadie is only in town for a short time but isn’t prepared to lose his heart all over again. SECOND CHANCE RANCH is a sweet storyline about a second chance at love for two people who have never stopped loving one another. There is no foul language or graphic sex (only implied) ;there is a little bit of romance and a rekindling of a friendship.  The secondary characters include some of the teens at Second Chance Ranch as well as both Royce and Sadie’s family. If you like a quick, romantic read with no cliffhanger, and a happily ever after, Second Chance Ranch by Cindi Madsen is for you.

"Second Chance Ranch" by Cindi Madsen is a fantastic read. I am a huge fan of Madsen so when I saw that she was coming out with a new series I was extremely excited. If you haven't read anything by Cindi Madsen before, this would be a great place to start. I think this is a great story to start with. Sadie has hit rock bottom and has returned home. After two separate music contracts fell through, Sadie doesn't now what to do. Returning home also means that she will need to see Royce again. The man whose heart she broke many years ago. Looking for a job, Sadie ends up working for Royce at Second Chance Ranch. Will they be able to repair their friendship? Royce has a loving heart and definitely still has feelings for Sadie. Royce can't seem to get over how Sadie broke his heart so many years ago. Now that she is back, what is he going to do? He can't seem to get Sadie off his mind. I loved the characters in "Second Chance Ranch." Sadie is so fun to get to know. It has got to be hard trying to accomplish your dreams and coming so close several times but never getting to reach that goal.Sadie is brave for returning home and admitting defeat and taking the time to have a break and find herself again. Sadie needs to find what she loved again. I like that Madsen brings the reader a character like Sadie. I like reading about characters that I can relate too. What about that handsome devil Royce? Not only is he swoon worthy but he is definitely the wounded cowboy. Royce put his walls up but he wasn't able to keep them up for long because Sadie was still able to get through to him. I loved the plot in this book. I loved that Sadie came home to discover herself again. Sadie needed to find out what is really important to her and what she wants in life. I was hooked on this book right away and I wasn't disappointed at all. I think "Second Chance Ranch" is a great read. This book is so much fun and I think it makes a great beach read or a rainy day read. I think this story could bring a smile to anyone's face. I think Madsen is a very talented writer so definitely check out her other work too.

A sweet story using familiar tropes to achieve Happily Ever After. Author Madsen creates relatable, likable characters in hard-working rancher Royce Dixon and wannabe Nashville superstar Sadie Hart. Both are eager to leave behind past hurts and achieve their goals. Neither ever dreamed of that the love of their life lie in Hope Springs. Sadie is determined to not make the same mistakes her mother did. She yearns to be a singing star and though she loves her high school sweetheart Royce, she turns down his marriage proposal for a chance at Nashville stardom. Yet after her contracts fall through and a disastrous night onstage, she’s ready to return home to recoup both her spirit and her finances. Royce spent years on the rodeo circuit after Sadie left him, spending his nights with a string of one-night stands and helping his family run a the Second Chance Ranch, a program to help troubled teens get their lives together. When Royce’s father unexpectedly passes away, the responsibility of keeping the ranch going falls squarely to him.  Sadie needs a job. Royce gives her one. The setting for Second Chance Ranch not only provides another opportunity for the troubled teens but also gives them a second chance at the love they both left behind earlier in life. While the story itself is familiar, author Madsen manages to tell it in a fresh way with her fun characters. The pace is fast and I look forward to the next book in this series.

The beginning was very captivating, it was one of those books which you start and just keep on reading. IT is a reflection on our hopes and dreams. It is a story of two people whose life didn't turn out to be the way they envisioned. But in the end they realise; it wasn't such a bad thing after all. Sometimes what destiny has in store for us is better than what we wanted. I also liked the idea of "Second Chance Ranch." And it fits in the whole plot beautifully, capturing the true meaning of hope and love. I think the whole book is great and well written. It is a must read for those who are looking for second chances. But then aren't we all? ;) Sadie had left her small town and the boy she loved to fulfill a dream that didn't happen. Now she is back. Not much has changed in her small town and it reminds her of all that she has missed. especially what she had with Royce. She still misses him but things had not ended well for them. On her very first day back she meets him and it is clear that he has still not forgiven her for leaving and breaking his heart. Royce has no idea how to react. Clearly he is still a little bit in love with Sadie but he cannot forgive her. She had broken his heart and since then he hasn't been the same person. Now he has his ranch to think about. Nothing else seems more important than making it work. It was his father's dream and now his. As far as Sadie is concerned he will have nothing to do with her. That woman was, and most probably still is, trouble. Then by luck he got to hire her to work on his ranch. Sadie needs a job desperately and he needs a woman employ just as desperately. So it works out for both of them. But the real problem is staying away from each other and overcoming intense attraction they both still feel. I really enjoyed reading it and I hope everyone else do too. Happy reading everyone! :)

A second chance at romance set on a ranch in a small town. Sadie has chased her Nashville dreams of stardom, until her money has run out. She reluctantly returns home to Hope Springs to save money for her return, and runs into to her ex, Royce. He and his mother run a ranch that serves troubled teens as well as being a working ranch. Royce isn't to happy to hear that Sadie has returned to town, but eventually they both work out their differences and achieve their happily ever after.  Second Chance Ranch is a sweet romance with enough chemistry, humor, and engaging characters. I would recommend to anyone who like western themed romances! I received a free copy for an honest review.

This is second chance romance between Sadie and Royce. Sadie left home to seek out her musical career, while Royce stays home to work on the ranch for troubled youth. Sadie returns home, and take on a temporary job at the ranch, can they just stay friends or will it develop into more. I loved the chemistry of these two. A great idea of the ranch for troubled youth. I could not put the book down. I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review.

What a sweet second chance romance story! I absolutely loved Royce--the high school boyfriend Sadie left behind, who's trying to keep his parents' dream alive after the death of his father. He's such a great guy--working with his best friend and his mother, really caring about the troubled kids at the ranch and the working ranch as well--and doing his best to keep it all together, even though he doesn't have enough time or help, and he's constantly feeling as if his best is "less than" what his dad did. It so isn't. The poor guy. Enter Sadie--she's also a very sympathetic character, don't get me wrong--I loved her too. She's been trying to follow her dream for the past six years, and has nearly lost herself in the process. Her agent's told her she needs to be thinner, blonder, and have bigger boobs (fortunately, she hasn't followed through on that last one yet) and after almost signing with a label and having it fall through for the second time, she's dead broke and heading back to Hope Springs, Wyoming to regroup--and replenish her depleted bank account. Even without reading the blurb you know from the very first chapter that Sadie's going to end up working at Royce's ranch. Naturally, it takes the two of them a little bit longer to give in to the inevitable... I love second chance at romance stories, and Cindi Madsen's writing makes this one so much fun to read. Even though there's nothing groundbreaking or new going on here, it's so easy to care about these two characters and want to cheer them on as they dance around getting back together. (It totally doesn't hurt at all that he's a cowboy and she loves country music either! ;) ) There's a lot of promise in the series--Sadie's best friend Quinn is nicely set up for a future story involving a certain mysterious biker, and Royce's best friend Cody obviously is going to get past his womanizing ways eventually. Can't wait! Rating: 4 stars / B+ I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

This sweet second chance romance is the story of Sadie and Royce. Leaving her high school love behind, Sadie went to Nashville in search of her dream to be a country music star. Things didn't work out as planned though and 6 years later she's back in Hope Springs, licking her wounds and hoping to earn some money to get her career aspirations on track. When a job opens up at Royce's ranch helping out with his teen camp, Sadie takes it and before long memories of her and Royce are overwhelming them both. Can they rebuild their friendship and rekindle their love? And will that be enough to keep them together? I really enjoyed this story! Sadie was a delightful character - fun, friendly, outspoken, a real charmer, though she hides her insecurities well. Being rejected in Nashville was a hard lesson to learn, but being back in Hope Springs is reminding her of what she's missed- working with horses, being with her family, and most importantly her friendship and love for Royce. Royce's character is also very engaging - strong, handsome, determined to make his ranch and teen camp as successful as his father did. Having Sadie around him again brings up all sorts of memories, both good and bad, but the more time he spends with her, the more he falls back in love with her again. The chemistry between them is evident from the first time they set eyes on each other after their separation and the sweet romance scenes between them are tender and heartwarming. The secondary characters added a lot to the story, both the teens in the camp and the families of Sadie and Royce. There was an abundance of warmth and humour that made the story a delight to read. I also really liked the setting of the story, the descriptions of life on a ranch and the reality of rodeo competitions. Overall the story was an entertaining read, with engaging characters, an interesting plot, full of warmth and humor and a sweet romance. 4 stars!
