Editorial Reviews

Ebooks Reviews Weekly - Nina Osier
"Second Coming features strong, yet realistically flawed characters of both genders, completely believable world building on its author's part, and a satisfying yet surprising conclusion.

BUY THIS BOOK, if you're a hard SF fan who nevertheless demands a character-driven tale. The old masters, writers like Heinlein and Clark and Anderson, never did it better."

Great mix of action and mystery

A heady mix of Astronomy, Mythology, inter-planetary unrest and ominous portents combine to create a dazzling read in Second Coming.

Set in a system where the Kelosans arrogantly lord it over their Ansonian counterparts, a series of long-planned events tip the bristling détente into war. Set against this, a ragtag group of scientists, a thief, a psychic and, eventually, a priestess and a leading politician, must battle prejudice, conspiracy, paranoia and the impending return of the mysterious Sonimon to unravel the ancient secrets about the shared heritage of Kelosa and Ansonia, and decipher the codes that will help them stop their certain destruction at the hands of far superior enemies that have slumbered for half a millennium, biding their time.

With a great, mixed cast of characters, some brilliant technology that doesn't overshadow the very human conflicts at play, and a clever use of Astronomy and Mythology to combine the supernatural fears and very real dangers of their Solar System, Second Coming is a ripping read that will have you tearing through the pages in search of the answers to every new challenge the group find themselves up against.

A couple of very thoughtful twists keep the story fresh near the end - just when you think you know how it will end - and a few noble sacrifices serve to highlight the desperation of the struggles they face from the Ancestors and their twisted vision.
