Each of the 38 lessons includes a theme, classroom activity, discussion ideas, and takeaway points. Initially authored by Dr. Daniel Price, a licensed clinical psychologist, the curriculum has undergone revisions by grade level teachers since 2001, and modified to include activities that are fun and educational at the same time.

Meet the Author

Dr. Daniel Price has 20 years experience as a Clinical Psychologist. He founded the Empowering Families Program in 1996, and over the years the agency has been successful helping a multitude of individuals and families. His experiences range from running an individual psychology practice, to founding a character education non-profit organization (FACE), to working in psychiatric hospitals, community mental health clinics, public schools, and working with court services and social services. Dan's treatment philosophy is about helping the individual obtain the positive changes in their lives by empowering their inner strength and mobilizing their inner resources in overcoming obstacles, hurdles, and fears that have interfered in their achieving their full potential.

Sara Shoemaker and Sarah Loret are both elementary school counselors in Augusta County, Virginia with M.Eds in counseling.
