Now available in paperback, Secret Believers not only gives you a glimpse of the lives of these courageous believers, it also proposes four practical initiatives for Christians in the West to help these persecuted brothers and sisters. Editorial Reviews

Library Journal

As riveting and fast-paced as any well-written novel, this account by Andrew (founder, Open Doors International; God's Smuggler) and Janssen (coauthor, The Marriage Masterpiece) of several Muslims in the Middle East who have come to Christ is an inspiring call for the Western Church to engage in a "good Jihad" to help the Middle Eastern Church's struggle for survival. The authors refer to this converted population as Muslim Background Believers, and they have changed their names and locations for protection. Implicit in the story is an underlying global problem both Muslims and Christians share: many don't really "walk the talk" their respective scriptures preach. Instead, apathy or violence runs rampant. Throughout the narrative, the authors preach love and forgiveness, two attributes sadly missing in 21st-century society. They enjoin Christians of all denominations to cooperate in this "mission" and lead by the example of their own lives. Recommended for all libraries.
—Gary P. Gillum

Amazing Stories of Muslims Who Choose to Follow Christ

"Secret Believers: What Happens When Muslims Believe in Christ" is made up of dramatic stories of the lives of Muslims who turn to faith in Jesus Christ. It tells of the struggles and difficulties that they face when they become followers of Christ. Even though Christian Muslims receive opposition from their families, countries, and governments when they abandon the faith of Islam they often share their newfound Christian faith with other Muslims who are longing to know more about the message of Jesus. The writing is Intensive and compelling. The multiple characters and difficult Muslim names sometimes become confusing making it hard to follow the plot as their stories appear throughout the narrative. Part 2 of the book includes some thoughts on how as Christians we can respond to the stories. An appendix includes "A Letter from the Afghan Persecuted Church of Christ" written to then President George W. Bush to alert the Western world of the plight of the persecuted church in Afghanistan. I found the selected bibliography helpful. "Secret Believers: What Happens When Muslims Believe in Christ" is a call to Christian believers to be reminded that we are in the midst of spiritual warfare and to recognize the need for committed prayer for our Christian brothers and sisters in Muslim countries, to intercede for the persecuted church, and to reach out in love to the individual Muslims in our personal world. This is important reading for every Christian.
