Meet the Author

Talia Jager has been writing as far back as she can remember. As a child, her summer vacations were spent writing stories. Bedtimes were ignored when she hid under the covers with a flashlight, a notebook and a pen. At school, she kept her works-in-progress under her classwork.

She took creative writing and journalism in high school and graduated with a major in English and a minor in French. She later earned her college degree in early childhood education. Writing was pushed to the side when she fell in love and had a family.

Now, with the support of her family, she has several published books and continues to write young adult dramas.

Talia lives in Texas with her husband and five daughters. Her published works include Damaged: Natalie’s Story, Teagan’s Story: Her Battle With Epilepsy, If I Die Young, The Ultimate Sacrifice, and Secret Bloodline. She hopes to have her next book out by the end of 2011.

AMAZING- Highly Recommended- You must read this book!

The story has so many emotions mixed into this book that you will be held captive throughout the book. Kari is a young lady who goes from foster home to foster home. Her parents were in an accident when Kari was small, and since she lost them, she was placed into the system. Kari desperately wants to fit in somewhere (anywhere); she wants to feel like she belongs and is loved. Isn’t that what we all want in life? She did like The Thompsons(her last foster home), and even the 2 daughters (well one of them anyways); but she overheard Mr. Thompson telling his wife that something is off with Kari and they will need to send her back before something terrible happens. Feeling confused and alone, she leaves the last foster care home. Kari’s world has been rather odd to say the least….she seems to not fit in with other kids her age, her mind and body are starting to change, she can run faster than anyone, she is starting to crave something, but she isn’t sure what it is, and she notices that she is a quick healer. A coven takes her under their wings (so to speak), and trains her. They explain what is happening to her and tell her that a vampire killed her parents. So, what is a girl to do, but go after the one person who killed her parents; she wants revenge. Then she meets up with Aiden (A Vampire Hunter), he is so handsome, and from the first time they meet sparks fly and for some reason she feels so compelled to him. Will Aiden help Kari? Or will he kill her because that is what he does? You have to read this book to find out what happens next. I promise you, you will not be disappointed! I truly LOVED this book, and would definitely read it again. Talia Jager does a terrific job with all the characters and the story. I have read two books by Talia, and can honestly say, she is a very good writer.

    Great Read

I really enjoyed this book. I have read most of Jager's books and I think this is my favorite. The author did a great job of building the romance between Kairi and Aiden. Lots of emotions and drama made this book a page turner. I read it in one siting.
