Have a snooping sister? A barging-in brother? Five-fingered friends who can't keep their hands off your new Game Boy or their eyes off your diary? Then here's the book for you-a colorful, wise guy guide with all the lowdown on how to protect your special stuff from meddlers and nosy relatives:

· Turn any place into a secret hideout
· Make innocent-looking trick gadgets and trapdoors
· Develop codes and maps with friends
· and pass top-secret messages like a pro

Follow the Twelve Laws of Hiding Stuff; try tricks like putting in a "Floor Board of Education" in your school locker to cover up valuables; and get some "shelf awareness"--stick something behind books on the case as a decoy. Hoard your treasured items where curious critters won't ever find it, and be aware of locations you must avoid. And just so that no one can figure out your "hidden" logic, the book itself has a unique "spine concealer" that makes it look like a CD--so it can go "undercover" right with all your music!

Children's Literature
Did you ever need a clever hiding place for your trading card collection? Did you have a brother or sister that would read your journal in front of your friends? This book could have solved all your problems. Shulman has created a very ingenious source for all of those kids who have nosy siblings. Implicit instructions and diagrams, as well as a few warnings, abound throughout. Everything from instructions about how to hide cards or notes in a CD case to instructions about how to leave notes for your friends under the water fountain at school are included. Future spies, and probably present spies, can benefit from the painstaking instructions found here. Also included are instructions about how to build a false wall in a bookcase at home and a false bottom in your locker at school. Some small consideration should be undertaken before providing children with this book. It can be a lot of fun, but it can also provide grounds for a dangerous situation to develop. 2001, Orange Avenue, $4.95. Ages 8 to 12. Reviewer: Danielle Williams

I have one older snoopy sister and a father who thinks he knows everything. I trusted my mom with all my secrets, but now thanks to this book I don't even have to tell HER!!! I now can just hide my secrets and this book even includes how to remember where you put it!!! I really recomend this book to anyone who has a secret or two to keep but doesnt know how.

The Chapstick thingy worked! I sacrificed one of my chapsticks to test it. I cleaned out the tube, and it was so easy, I just had to use the toothpick, not the bag! I did it over the garbage disposal, in the sink! I am going to use it to talk to my BEST FRIEND, Kathryn. Luckily, she sits diagonally from me, so I can just pass it under our desks. Please post this!!!

This is an awsome book, for the projects it has all the matrials you need written in the instuctions bold faced and that way you just open up to the project you want to do and all the materials are right there, there is also a secret website listed in the book and when you go to it there are TONS of extra ideas.

In my locker at school I have the idea I got from the book called "Quick Pencil Drop." Some rude girl heard me and my friend were passing notes through my locker and when I opened my locker she looked in it and saw nothing. In the holder I had a note from a guy and she would have tooken it. I am so happy I bought this book. Good luck to all you hiders!

I am 9 years old and I think this book is good for me. I have gotten a lot from it. You say it is for 12 and older but it is not at all too hard. It is an exellent book. My sister is 15 and she likes this book also. I truly think you should change it to say maybe 8 to adult. I think adults like this book too. My parents like it. thank you.

If there is spot in your house where the carpet is pulled up off the floor, you can slide a note or any other small flat object under the carpet. This works best if the carpet is not to loose.

Hey one day when I was at Barnes and Noble, I saw this book. I looked on the back, and i do have a snooping sister and a barging in brother-except the pantithesis. So I got it. I liked the decoy idea. I have this box that I keep my cards and instructions to things in, and I always have. But I liked this book so much, I told my brother the poster trick, except I hide notes behind my quilts on the wall. This guy named Michael had a major crush on me, and still does, so I have some notes from him. My brother always wanted to see them, so I had to find a place to hide them. I glued a piece of white paper to cardboard that fit in the box perfectly, and hid my notes under the secret bottom. My cards and instructions are still there, except I taped a piece of paper on the lid, saying 'Cards and Instructions'. About two days ago, I had my birthday party/sleepover. We slept in the basement. The next day, I opened my closet and found all my boxes lying on the floor. My brother was snooping for the notes and never found them! Thanks a lot to Mark Shulman for all these great ideas!

I love this book I'll be starting school soon & plan to use some of these ideas I can't wait to see the next book I hope some of my ideas & hiding places will be in it. Well, I was going to use the 'Fortune Cookie' (in a screwable pen) and I think I went through all of my unscrewable pens ,but a dollar would not fit in any So, I asked my mom for a bigger pen and she got suspicious she asked me why I needed it I couldn't lie so I told her 'to hide something' she wanted to know what so I told her'my money' well now she wants to hide things too every now and then she tries to look in my book
