Fun read for an 8-9 year old

I like this series for my son because he likes it and he minds reading this less than other books. He's not a natural reader but this series makes it easier to get him to read. He chuckles over some of the lines and will re-read them.

    the crackelfur reviw

I think this book is funny and odd.It has a number of friends and family and some very odd pets like a cockaroch named kafka and a flesh eating plant. The crackelfurs remind me of the adams family.

This is a delightful story, the all mouse characters are very unique and colorful including the mouse author and the illustrations of the castle on pages 16 and 19 are absolutely stunning. Because this was originally written in first person Italian (and I'm assuming the author is really Italian) I am not surprised that the castle fits the profile of some ancient castles of Italy. Get it in hardcover as it will be worth it.
