These are no ordinary princesses--they're Rescue Princesses!

Princess Emily sometimes wishes that being a princess meant more than wearing fancy dresses and performing endless curtsies. She longs for a life-changing adventure-and she may just get one!

Someone is plotting to hurt the deer who live in beautiful Mistberg Forest. Together with some new friends, Emily will have to use her smarts, her savvy, and even some newfound ninja skills to save them.

Editorial Reviews

As a full-fledged rescue princess, Emily isn't just sitting around, waiting for a fail-safe Prince Charming to wander by. In this new Scholastic series starter, she and her friends are determined to safe the defenseless deer of Mistberg Forest. A ninja royal worth of watching.

Children's Literature - Tima Murrell
Princess Emily travels to the castle of Mistberg with her parents. She has finally reached the age of nine and is now allowed to attend the Mistberg Grand Ball. She is excited to meet the other princesses. The four princesses are soon good friends and work together as a team to rescue at little fawn. But someone evil is planting traps in the forest and none of the adults will believe the girls. The princesses must work together to solve the mystery and save the deer of Mistberg Forest. As the first book in the "Rescue Princesses" series, the plot sets the tone for the stories to come and introduces all of the princesses. It ends with the girls planning to keep in touch, which provides a sufficient opening for the next book in the series. The story flows well and showcases compassion for animals, teamwork, and trusting friends. The illustrations were lively and entertaining. Girls will be able to relate to the princesses and the theme of helping others. Reviewer: Tima Murrell

My daughter loved these feisty princesses. There was plenty of action to keep her interested. I see this is the start of the series and my daughter is keen to get the next one which is a very good sign.

The author does a great job of making this book and series both action packed and age appropriate. It keeps my six year old girl's interest when I read it with her, but even my 8 year old boy wound up listening to it and thought it was interesting enough to stay for the whole reading. Now my 6 year old daughter wants all of them in the series and it got her to want to read them herself, even though they are a bit over her level.

We received #1 from cereal box code my 6 year old enjoyed it so much that we are now working our way through the series. I like that the characters are not sassy like some of the other chapter books of her reading level. Definitely recommend this series.
