    Romantic and Mysterious!

Amanda Tru is one of my newly-discovered favorite Christian authors. Her other books were all suspenses and this one is full of suspense and surprise from the very beginning as well. Hailey is stuck wearing bells and a cute little elf outfit when she loses her teaching position in economic cuts, and when she begins to be pursued by the resident Santa, she does even know his name or true identity. This is a true heart-warming story for the holidays or any old time. I will not spoil the book for potential readers by revealing too much, but I had a terrific time figuring out who the real Santa was--(I was right, by the way!). "Santa" reminds Hailey often that God does have a plan and a purpose for her life, and I enjoyed seeing that plan and purpose unfold among the pages of Secret Santa.

For a short story the book moves quickly and there is a lot of action. The first couple chapters had me getting frustrated because Hailey was too whiney.... Just hold on because she gets her backbone. Hailey admits things are not going well in her life and then she loses a bet to the department store Santa which means she has to attend the company Christmas party with him. This wouldn't be so bad except that she doesn't even know is first name and she gets fired from the company the next day. This isn't just any Santa; he can repel off buildings. Amanda is one of my favorite authors. Just when you think you have it figured out... you don't
