Overview

It’s been a week since Logan Wright and her friends managed to defeat Samhain, the Lord of the Dead, and put an end to the death and destruction he caused in his relentless pursuit of her.

All has been quiet.

But it’s always quiet before a storm, and as the October wind picks up once more and red eyes peer from the darkness, it becomes clear that “Sam Hain” is far from finished. He’s after something precious, something that can only be found here, and he isn’t going to go away without it.

In this second installment of the pulse-pounding young adult series The October Trilogy, Logan and her companions face an enemy that has grown more powerful, more determined, and more dangerous in spades. Samhain, who has once more become Sam Hain the indomitable god-turned-vampire, has his mesmerizing sights set on Logan Wright, body and soul.

Nothing is going to sway him this time. He’s learned his lessons and adapted. Time is running out. And nothing is more deadly than a Death God on a schedule.

This is the second book in the October Trilogy. Logan Wright and her friends have been on an adventure. With battles for power and for Logan, the book is fast paced and very exciting. The story moves very quickly and has everything you could want in a paranormal book. There are vampires, wolves, witches, friendship, love, and exciting battles. I don’t like to give up plots with my review and base them mostly on how the book made me feel as I read it. I really enjoyed this new installment in the series. It had everything I had come to expect from HKH books. I was drawn in from the beginning and could not put the book down until I had completed it. I was nervous, excited, sad and mesmerized by the events that transpired. I can’t wait to read what happens next. I highly recommend this book and the previous installment Sam I Am. You will be very happy that you made the purchase.

Great follow up to Sam I Am. The cast of characters are quite diverse. A bard, vampire, witch, teacher and guitar player are the heroes, against the villian, the Lord of the Dead. This sequal is even better than the first, it is an adventure into another world. A surprising cliffhanger has me hoping that the third and final installment will not take as long to come out as this one did. Excellent work as alway from HKW.

Heather Killough Walden never disappoints! I have waited for the sequel to Sam I Am and this book delivers. I am so thankful for the day I found a HKW book. You must check out this book and all of her other series. I am a fan for life!

Story was good but a lot more predictable than the first book with one or two exceptions. I enjoyed the read and while the storyline progressed I did not feel like the main characters developed or evolved more than what we learned in book one. The lesser characters of Logan's friends and teacher we learned more about but not Logan, Sam or Dom. That being said I do feel like this second book was more of a setup for the final installment of the trilogy so I am excited for the last book. Will be anxiously waiting for the third and final installment of the October trilogy.

I love this trilogy, this is what introduced me to Heathers writing and thank goodness. I love her books. I really like this trilogy as it is not the same old thing that is everywhere right now. Her work is very different and really great.

Loved this installment of the trilogy. It picked up right where "Sam I Am" left off. Logan is such a great character because of her flaws and her characteristics. Sam and Dom are two great guys. I enjoyed Sam's part in this book. The supernatural element was new and different from the first book. There's new characters to discover and new powers that the reader hasn't seen before. I didn't want to put this book down or for it to end. Plenty of action and detail. Read this one after "Sam I Am" and you won't be disappointed in Heather's wonderful storytelling abilities.

The second book to the October Series. Continues the story of Logan and Sam. The characters are realistic and readers can relate to some of their lives. HKW's writing style is continued in the same fashion as the first book "I Am Sam." Like the first book Secretly Sam draws the reader into the story line making them want to know what happens next in the series. HKW portrayal of Samhain (Sam Hain) is wonderfully written. A long with the every day life of Logan and her abusive brother. In this book the reader learns a bit more about the neopagan holiday. Which is refreshing because the book is enjoyable as well as captivating. It keeps the reader at the edge of their seat wanting to know what will happen. I for one am looking forward to the final book in the series. Thank you HKW for gifting the book. I enjoyed it.
