Many errors, poorly written, not worth it.

IMHO, I think this book is just awful. It has no table of contents, so you are forced to go over droning material that goes on and on. I found many 1/2 solutions for people such as when the author says to 'get items from wholesalers' and sell at a higher price, he neglects to mention that wholesalers often will NOT sell to someone without a registered business and/or resale certificate, nor does he mention that wholesalers have minimum purchase levels that can range from, in my experience, $50 - $500+ per order or they won't even talk to you. In addition, his idea on 'keeping a list of what you sold to whom' so you can call them or email them later to tell them what you have is in direct violation with eBays rules in spamming members as far as I know. At this time, you can add stores and sellers to 'your favorites' and sign up for newsletters that will tell you when your favorite seller has listed again and what they have, which is not in this book. I found this book to be lacking in essential information in building a solid business and encourage people to look elsewhere for advice. Two good books are: eBay Hacks - fabulous for all levels of sellers and even though I hate to say it, eBay Bible is better than this book. Just terrible. Wish I could return it.

Secrets of eBay:Strategies and Tips Used by the Most Successful eBay Sellers

The content of a book is only as good as the level of knowledge the author has on the subject. You can tell from reading Secrets of eBay that it is written by someone who has actually sold on eBay and has figured out how to deal with all of the challenges that are part of selling on eBay. There are some very good ideas here that could have only been dealt with so well by someone who has real experience doing business on eBay.
