Overview

From the authors of the best-selling The Secrets of Happily Married Men comes the much-anticipated follow-up book The Secrets of Happily Married Women. In their first book, Dr. Haltzman and his coauthor Theresa Foy DiGeronmio outlined a recipe for men about growing a happy marriage: treat marriage with the same sense of purpose, resolve, and single-minded devotion that they have for their job. Although that workplace formula works well for men, an entirely different set of criteria resonate with women.

In The Secrets of Happily Married Women, Dr. Haltzman tells us stories from real women who are happy in their relationships. These women know how to get more out of their partners by doing less, by not trying so hard to make men perfect, not dragging them to couples therapy, not expecting them to think or behave like a woman. These are women from Dr. Haltzman's clinical practice and culled from thousands of contributors to his Web site www.HappilyMarriedWomen.com. They have learned to understand how men really work and tap into men's powerful hard-wired desire to please women and "be a better man."

    We've made Happy even Happier!

Dr. Haltzman really hits the nail on the head with this one! My husband and I are happy but our hope was to improve upon a good situation. We're newly married (3 years) and Dr. Haltzman helped us to find the good in us and make it better. It gave us the opportunity to relate in a fuller way and explore our relationship without having to trek into some Dr.'s office for advice. Sometimes the passages were so strikingly familiar that I had wondered how he had overheard our very conversations. It is true, we speak differently as man and woman, this book opened my eyes to the mysteries of my husband. Dr. Haltzman brought real-life insight and mixed it with humor helping my husband and I to enjoy this fast and funny read while learning how to improve upon us. Every couple now has the opportunity to make Happy even Happier! Thanks Dr. Haltzman!

This book and its companion is a terrific set for couples having trouble who want to be happy together. If you have been in marriage counseling and it didn't work, if you fight about the same things over and over, read this book. I was ready to give up on my marriage and these books have brougt my husband and I together with an understanding we have never had before. I am so grateful for this book, it has saved my marriage.
