Welcome to a very different kind of trucking book.

Knowledge is power. Let this book walk you through each step in your truck driving career from prospective student to becoming a trainer.

Trust me -- It was really tough for me to learn how to drive a truck and get my CDL. It was even tougher dealing with a company that often did not have my best interests at heart. I had to learn by costly trial and error without a mentor to guide me. I wrote this book for you because I don’t want you to suffer this same fate.

Please allow me to be your guide to help you avoid the pitfalls that await the unwary.

If you are considering getting a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), read SECRETS THE TRUCKING COMPANIES DON’T WANT YOU TO KNOW! before making a decision to become a truck driver.

Trucking companies paint a deceptively tantalizing picture of the profession. They have to, because they have a huge driver turnover and need to constantly recruit and train new prospects to take the place of those who have moved on to more suitable professions.

Read this book and learn the truth about what it is really like to drive a truck. Allow this book to guide you through the minefield of trucking choices. Learn to sidestep being brainwashed into making choices that only benefit the company. You will emerge not just unscathed, but victorious!
• An aptitude test will determine if you are truck driver material.
• You will learn how to choose a CDL school and receive valuable tips about what to look out for during your training.
• After learning how to be hired on by the company that can best meet your needs, you will be coached about how to make the most money possible.
• A list of questions to ask prospective employers will prove to be invaluable.

Read SECRETS THE TRUCKING COMPANIES DON’T WANT YOU TO KNOW! and let me serve as your mentor. After all, deciding to drive a truck is a decision that you make because you have a vision of a better life. It’s your chance to take control of your future and your life. Read this book in order to give yourself every chance to succeed in your new profession as a truck driver!

I am getting back into the Trucking field after a 13 year absence and needed a quick overview. This book helped greatly. Very well written and organized. The author has a great talent for writing and should use this book as a template for other subjects.

This book told *the other side of the story* that nobody else seemed willing to tell: The figures that they quote you for how much you will make are based on you working a 10-hour day *every* day. I strongly believe that Yvonne was *balanced* in her report: she isn't a bitter failure with an axe to grind. But before you sign up for a trucking school, READ THIS BOOK. It's cheap. It's short. It's to the point. THEN you can make your decision - knowing what you're really likely to get into.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is thinking about entering into the trucking industry. It is an easy read I finished in a day of on and off reading and its only 10 bucks. All in all there was a lot of useful information in there especially about the schooling portion and tons of helpfull tips to make it easier. I really like her 20 questions with the pros and cons of trucking.

Using the advice and tips in this book, I was able to breeze through trucking school, get my CDL, and find a job with a good company. There's no other trucking book that even comes close to this one in terms of practical advice for someone thinking about becoming a truck driver.

This is a get-to-the-point book, packed with specific detailed information based on one person's hands-on experience as one new to OTR trucking. Imagine sitting at the kitchen table over coffee with an articulate and intelligent person who's just gone through the experience you are now considering. The benefits, the challenges, the troubles, the frustrations, the rewards... everything you ever wanted to know, but never had the opportunity to ask. I am so grateful to Yvonne Wright. . .

Meet the Author

Many thanks to all of you who have bought this book! Your response has been overwhelming! I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to bring this information to the attention of all of you who so desperately need it!

Yvonne Wright wrote this book after going through the commercial driving program at a large trucking company’s school and driving as a national company driver and a dedicated route driver for a large department store chain. She exposes how the company attempted to manipulate her to make choices that were only in the company’s best interests. She details this from very first phone call, through each step of the educational process, and how it continued in every interaction with the company.

This book is an invaluable aid to anyone who is thinking about becoming a truck driver. It will assist those who decide to drive a truck in each step of the process by presenting the consequences of each choice in a logical manner.
