    My Thoughts:
NGH. That was my first, anticipatory thought. (For those of you wondering what in the blue perfect hell that means/stands for, it's basically a noise of feminine approval and lust.) Anything Laura Kaye writes is hot and I totally fell in love with her vampires in In The Service of the King. Her men are men without being man children. (And that, kittens, is why it's fiction!)

Nikolai is no different - A total Alpha male with a heart breaking dose of pain and anger over the death of his kid brothers. He has abandoned any pretext of being a king to his people and instead has recklessly thrown himself fang first into their war with the evil Soul Eaters.

Enter Kate. She's beautiful, headstrong, and not about to toe the line of the Proffered, even if her family holds a high seat in their society. She's run away to Russia to escape the pressure and on a restless midnight stroll finds a very large, very injured Nikolai. She gives him her blood and even defends him in his weakened state with his own gun. That's no shrinking violet, that is the making of a badass heroine! She needs every bit of that baddassadry too, because Nikolai is intent on pushing her away, despite the biological and primal signs screaming at them to lock themselves in a room for the next century.

Dark Horse Hottie: Mikhail. What is it with me and vampire seconds? Who cares. If it's wrong, I don't wanna be right!

    Love bites! Rawr!
Wow! Laura Kaye does it again creating another fantastic tortured vampire hero with Nikolai Vasilyev! The summary pretty much best describes the gist of this novella that had me reading nonstop until the end. After reading In the Service of the King, I very much looked forward to the sequel that takes the story into another part of the world. This time it is cold, snowy Russia. The first book really sets the base describing this vampire world, its expected rituals and traditions, and the war with the Soul Eaters (the bad vampires). Seduced by the Vampire King briefly goes over those things, but focuses more on the undeniable attraction of the two main characters. Nikolai and Kate meet under dire situation. They sort of have a first comes bite, then comes love thing going on. Ahh, yes, * rubs throat with hand * there is biting and blood sucking! These Vampire Warrior Kings have needs, ya know! Well rounded with emotional, intense, and seductive moments, I really enjoyed this one more so than the first story. I can't wait to find out where Ms. Kaye takes us next in the series!

    Definitely a Fun Read

I read this after reading Laura Kaye's In the Service of the King and I liked this one even better. Its still a short read but there is more story here and more development of characters and locations. The heroine is not subservient like last time but holds her own, even being aggressive at times. The hero is actually the one who is weak (or as weak as a vampire king gets) and it is interesting to watch him be jealous and emotionally confused of/by the heroine. Good Read

    4.5/5 stars

The opening scenes of the story are fast and furious, dropping the reader right into he middle of the action with Russian vampire king Nikolai Vasilyev. Right from that very first meeting, the attraction and connection between Kate and Nikolai seriously sizzles.

Laura Kaye is versatile, a master of infusing her characters with such depth and vulnerability, intensity and emotional range, that it's impossible not to feel a connection to them.

With the same passion and intensity of the first story in the Vampire Warrior Kings series, this novella hits all the right sweet spots to draw you in and keep you enthralled. The setting is well-defined but not overbearing, the cast is just large enough to feel comfortable, and the story arc is surprisingly powerful and addicting for such a small word count.

Nikolai and his Katya not only steam up the pages, they make you thankful for all the special people in your own life... friends, lovers, and family alike. Seduced by the Vampire King is emotional and endearing, and I didn't want it to end!

    A Vampire to die for

Very well written, sizzling love scenes, the only thing wrong with this book was that it wasn't long enough! Loved it!

    Enjoyable!

There was a special connection between these two before they realized it themselves. Katherine and Nickolai were drawn to each other and were finally able to acknowledge that to themselves. This may have been a short book, but it was so good that I didn't mind. This is a definite re-read for me. I am a big fan of Laura Kaye's and love all of her books!!

Kate Bordessa was raised to be a proffered, a human virgin who is offered to a vampire warrior for substance and sex. But Kate doesn’t want any part of that life or the life her parents wish for her and so she escapes to Russia. While walking the streets of Moscow though Kate comes across a wounded man that she recognizes as a vampire. Unable to leave him, Kate protects the vampire from his foes and cares for him.
Vampire Warrior King Nikolai Vasilyev is on a path of destruction. Seeking vengeance for the deaths of his brothers-in-arms, he cares little about his station and less about his own safety despite the grumblings of his comrades. When he’s brought down in an attack though, Nikolai finds not only healing but solace in the arms of a human female.
Passion quickly ignites between Kate and Nikolai and they find themselves in a position they never expected, nor wanted.

I loved, loved, loved Seduced by the Vampire! In the first book of the series, In the Service of the King, I had a bit of a problem connecting to the main characters but that was not a problem here! Nikolai and Kate popped from the pages with depth and emotion while the story line instantly hooked. There was action, excitement, muay sexual tension and gratification, and all packed into a novella that was less than a 100 pages! And I just adore the unique world/vampire society that Laura Kaye has created in this series; it will quickly draw you in from the start and even by the end you’ll be clinging on the edge for more.

Seduced by the Vampire King can be read as a stand-alone but to get a better understanding of the world-building I would recommend reading the first book, In the Service of the King, before diving into Seduced by the Vampire King. Laura Kaye delivers a sizzling hot novella that you will blaze through, I can’t wait to read more about these vampire warriors and their kings!

I finished this in 2 hours! and that is my only complaint. Wish it wasn't over so soon! This series packs everything you love about paranormal romance into a hot, emotionally invoking package. While Seduced by a Vampire King can be read as a stand alone, I think you will have more understanding of the world and a deeper connection to the story if you first read In Service of the King.
