Overview

"I want to paint you" Artist Samara Leighton had wanted to say those words to the sexy motorcycle rider who lived in the building ever since she first laid eyes on him nearly a year ago. But now that the words were out she couldn't stop her heart from beating wildly in her chest.

" "Honey, you don't have enough paint to cover me." Security specialist Mark Thorn didn't mean to come off as a hard ass. As a matter of fact, he wanted nothing more than to let the tempting artist from across the hall do whatever she wanted to him and then some. But her ...

But her haughty demeanor left the normally cool rider off his game.

Samara knew this was her only chance to live out her long-standing fantasy and she wasn't going to let it slip through her fingers. She had very little time before her show was done and the pressure of her family legacy meant she would finally go through with living out her life under the umbrella of the Leighton name and its responsibilities. There would be no more downtown jaunts, lazy museum afternoons, and evenings spent lost in the magic of color and her canvases. And definitely no time spent holding tight to the muscular form of her dark rider while the horrors of her past and her cares drifted further away with each mile of road they covered.

    ok

I was bored with the relationship between Mark and Samara I felt the author wrote this story wrong . The way this story was told made Sam seem very shallow and the only thing Mark had to offer her was his body. How did they fall in love ,I never saw how because she spent her time with friends or out with Peter. I would liked the story to start out as it ended with this couple getting married and working through their differences . Not a society girl making Mark feel he was only good enough to have sex with.

When I finished K. M. Jackson's first book, Through the Lens, I was tickled to start Seduction's Canvas and find a fun little authorial trick had been played, which I discovered when introduced to heroine Samara Leghton. (Nicely played, Ms. Jackson).

Samara is the rebellious daughter of a NYC real estate mogul and hard-nosed businessman. But being rich does not spare her from heartbreak and all she wants to do is mourn her brother and pursue her art. She's no stranger to the gossp rags, and papparazzi, and even throwing herself into her painting and planning her first show can't insulate her. Her family, including a matchmaking minded mother, and an erstwhile suitor who seems more intererested in the connections a relationship with Sam can reap for him, couple to leave her frustrated and wondering if romance is even possible. But then her history with bad boys is rekindled when she meets motorcycle man Mark Thorn. And surprise, surprise. He's moved in across the hall. The attraction is instantaneous and smoldering. And no matter how hard Sam tries to keep him at arm's length, Thorn is determined to prove to her he can be the man of her dreams. But her family - and a secret from his past that Thorn is keeping from her that connects them both - will not hear of it. When lust overflows, all bets are off and the chips are going to fall where they may.

Jackson's new story is a bit darker than Lens, but no less marvelous a literary feast. I am again in awe of her ability to create such a rich, complex and satisfying tale in a shorter format. The backdrop of New York City is wonderfully rendered, and creates a great picture of a rich girl's Manhattan. As a native, I loved every bit of detail about the city. The wealth of detail about painting, and art was marvelous and a great addition to the immediacy of the story. The secondary characters are varied and interesting, and her parents nicely nuanced. Sam's three selves - as pointed out by Mark, combine to create a complicated woman fighting not just her own desires, but the expectations of parents, and society, and men. Mark Thorn is a tough, rough man with a wide streak of gentleman running through him. Together a combustible cast.

And the love story itself is hot, tormented, and the characters tortured by their own desires and the conflicts, both internal and external, that make their relationship such a thorny one. As a reader I was thoroughly invested in this romantic story, and while it is a romance so you know you're guaranteed a happy ending, Jackson kept me on the edge of my seat as I followed this couple through their twisting, heart-wrenching tale. But of course, that level of tension makes the sweet denouement all the sweeter.

Rating: 4.5 Stars In Seduction¿s Canvas by K.M. Jackson, Samara

    Rating: 4.5 Stars

In Seduction’s Canvas by K.M. Jackson, Samara Leighton is an artist and a rich girl but with a domineering father. She has the life many think is ideal but the secret of her brother’s death has shaped her and she cannot let it go. She has a limited time to do what she wishes, for once her show is done she will have to return to the family and do as they wish once again.

And so Sam decides to take her chance and tell her sexy motorcycle-riding neighbor that she wants to paint him. She has wanted to tell him that since she first laid eyes on him, but she never had the courage. Now close to the end of her freedom she takes the chance, but that doesn’t mean that her heart is not beating wildly in her chest as she waits for his answer.

Mark Thorn is a security specialist and he has his own secret regarding Sam. He does not want to sound like a hard ass and offensive in his answer, but her haughty rich girl demeanor takes him off his game more often than not.

If you read Through the Lens, you know that this is another read you cannot miss. Secrets from the past are binding both Mark and Sam but the chemistry may just be as strong if not stronger. Unfortunately those secrets bind them together in a way, but also will keep them apart until they can conquer them and be honest with one another.

For a fun, interesting, very hot and realistic read, don’t miss Seduction’s Canvas by K.M. Jackson. And did I say it had a hot guy on a motorcycle?

Oh…this one is yummy. Apparently I’m a big fan of bikers now, and how could I not, with someone like Mark Thorn varooming into my life?  He reminds me of Carlos Manoso, or “Ranger” in Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series, except that MT is much more willing to smile and stay a while. Samara Leighton has one foot in the glam world of high society NYC, one foot in her painter’s loft and wearing stained overalls, but her heart is buried deep, right beside her brother’s tomb. As Mark and Sam begin to bob and weave around one another, a beautiful story of love, acceptance and doing right begins to evolve, and soon takes hold of the reader’s heart. This is well written and wonderfully warming. Hats off the Ms. Jackson. Very well done.
I purchased this book online and have given this review freely and without compensation of any kind.
