    Heat Rating:  HOT HOT!

*This is NOT a stand-alone book!  If you haven't read Seductive Shadows (Shadows #1), please do so before reading this review or the book, you really don't wan't to spoil anything about this series!*

Marni Mann can write one hot, erotic, sensual book that dives into the darker side of things, creating a story that is so beautifully written that you are caught up in its whirlwind and taken for one hell of a ride!

Seductive Secrecy, took my breath away!  I gobbled it up in one night and stayed up much later wishing I had more time with Charlie and Cameron.  Seductive Shadows (book 1) was such a crazy-amazing book that took me on such an emotional journey that I was fearful of reading the sequel.  I should have NEVER doubted Ms. Mann, she knows what she is doing and delivered one of the best sequels I have read in a long time!

Seductive Secrecy lets us get to know Charlie and Cameron.  We get to get into their lives and see how they are making it as a couple and how they are dealing with life after the "mansion".  I LOVED getting into Charlie's art more, seeing how she created and dealt with clients, it was great to see her gaining success in the art world after such a dark past.   Cameron is still a bit of a mystery but we did get to see into his other relationships more during Seductive Secrecy, however, I am still holding out hope that we get one more book in this series that really dives into Cameron.  Charlie and Cameron are two characters that I have come to love and I would love to continue reading about (I would not say no to a book about Dallas either)

Ugh! (no spoilers) I can't say more but WOW, your heart is going to shatter with some of the twists and surprising revelations in this book!  Honestly, there was one point in the book that I gasped out loud and my heart stopped.  Marni Mann, definitely has a way of getting you invested in her characters, you feel right along with them, their highs and the lows and makes you understand that sometimes you have to survive the dark to learn how to savor the light.

I HIGHLY recommend this series.  It is dark, gritty, raw and just plain amazing.  Your heart will be taken on quite the ride!  Seductive Secrecy, surpassed my expectations (and they were high) and still managed to shock me with its twists and turns.  Marni Mann is a writer that I will automatically buy, her words resonate and her stories will linger on your mind (and in your heart).   Go grab Seductive Secrecy (and Seductive Shadows if you haven't read that either) get comfy and be prepared to get lost in this story about Charlie and Cameron!

In Seductive Secrecy, Charlie and Cameron's story picks up where it left off in the first book of the series, Seductive Shadows. Author Marni Mann easily draws the reader back into Charlie and Cameron's relationship. This couple has a complicated relationship full of troubling pasts, dark secrets, personal demons, and complex issues that keeps drawing them back into the shadows. While their relationship is intense and once again tested, this passionate couple is truly perfect for each other, and their ability to sustain their love, overcome obstacles, heal, and move forward is oh so worth the read!

Seductive Secrecy is an amazing story about two broken souls who find each other, and conquer the shadowy obstacles that life keeps throwing their way in order to help them to grow, heal and find a way to stay together.

    Seductive secrecy

I thought this book was incredible. It made me laugh, cry, angry, and frustrated. Charlie and Cameron had a true love story but Charlie and her father also had real love. People go through a lot in their lives and no one loves the same

    Series: Shadows #2
    Review:

"Seductive Secrecy" by Marni Mann was the second in this authors series: Shadows and it would probably be a good thing to read it first before reading (Seductive Shadows) for more of a understanding to what all this novel is about. This novel has a great plot...to tell would ruin the story of it all so.....

all I will say is that you must pick up "Seductive Secrecy" after reading Seductive Shadows and you will see what I mean. However, I will say its a unforgettable story about 'love in light and in darkness.'

For Charlie and Cameron will there be a 'happily ever after?" Will things ever settle down before we see visitors entering the picture that could cause much trouble. This novel offers a lots of emotions that are very complexed. You will find that the characters are somewhat flawed and very insecure. Yes, it is a romantic novel but so much angst in the middle of it all. All in all I thought this novel was written very well once you got into it you will be able to see how it will suck you into all of the 'emotional vortex' of it all. Once Charlie and Cameron are living together there will be obstacles that will lead to jealousy. Why is this? What happens when Cameron's brother Ryder comes into the picture? What secrets does Ryder have that will be brought out into the open? How will these secrets have any bearing of Charlie's and Cameron's relationship? Then the story continues with Charlie's now reconnecting with her father. What will come of that? I don't want to say to much more not wanting to ruin it for the reader...so I will say you must pick up the amazing read to see for yourself. Be ready for a 'emotional wreck' at the end but still it's a wonderful brilliant read. "Seductive Secrecy" is for anyone who likes dark romances and that being said ... pick up this novel... I don't think you will be unhappy with it.

Truthfully, I was expecting this book to have a bit more of a suspense feel to it because of how things ended in Seductive Shadows. I was expecting to get more into how the mansion goes down, but Seductive Secrecy focuses more on Charlie and Cameron. This is not a bad thing at all, I loved it, but I really would have liked to have a little bit more on how all that went down. I feel like the events that take place for that particular event would be pretty huge deal for Charlie and her healing. We do find out bits and pieces of this information through out the book so it's not like we act like it never happened. If you are slightly confused as to what I am talking about then it is because I don't want to give away any spoilers, so if you have read Seductive Shadows then you likely know what I am talking about, if you have not read Seductive Shadows yet then what the heck are you waiting for?! You need to get a copy of that book now, seriously one of the best reads of 2013 for me.

I love Charlie and Cameron for much of the same reasons I love all of my couples, they have a way of completing each other. Of helping the other person find the light in what they would assume is only a dark world. I love those stories, I think I will always love those stories and Marni Mann gives us a wonderful story about such a thing. Neither one of them really knows everything about each other's pasts, there is actually a lot that they don't know about each others pasts. What is important though is that they accept each other for who they are now, and who they are becoming. They love each other in spite of the scars their pasts have left on them. They know enough to know that they have each suffered and make it their missions to ease that suffering in any way possible.

Everyone has a story, everyone has a moment/period of time in their life when they move from what was, to what could be. This is the second half of Charlie's story, the half that takes her from what was to what could be. The half that forces her to face her fears and to live with the choices she has made and the consequences those choices bring. Both Charlie and Cameron have had hard pasts that they have done their best to over come. In hind sight they are realizing that while those choices have lead them to each other, they are not the only choices they have anymore. They can make more of life, find a way to leave the past in the past and make a future together.

I seriously love Marni Mann and the way she writes. Everything she writes has a way of getting under my skin. A way of causing me to feel what it is the characters are feeling, to get me caught up in their world and experience what they experience. There is a twist at the end that took me by surprise. I had no idea what to expect at that dinner, well actually I had a theory of what could happen. I had happily ever after for two sets of couples but that all went crazy really quick. I was reading as fast as my eyes would let me to try and get through it to see how it all played out. I don't want you to think this is not a happily ever after story because it is, just not for everyone. The Shadows series is one of my favorite series reads of 2013. It was gritty and different and kept my attention the entire time. I very much look forward to reading more from Marni Mann in the future.

Although I thoroughly enjoyed the first novel in this series, I absolutely loved this one.

Mann continues the play of light and dark in this novel.  That said, in this second instalment you can now see the dawn starting to chase away the shadows that haunt these characters.  The allusions and colours used really set the mood and the tone for the novel as a whole, as well as for specific scenes.  Self-discovery and acceptance come through in this artistic and visual depiction of these lives.  Mann’s descriptions are breathtakingly beautiful and you cannot help but walk alongside the characters throughout their journeys.

Since the bulk of the initial character development for this series is done in the first novel the only real changes that are seen are through character growth and acceptance of who they are.  The first person narrative, however, really connects you to the main character.  It makes the story feel very personal.  The new characters introduced, as well as those who now play a larger role, are quite well introduced and developed.

Overall, I not only fell in love with the characters that Mann has developed, I fell in love with this series as a whole.  Not only was it captivating, but it was also extremely artfully written.

Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review.
