Overview

Award–winner and USA Today bestselling author Rachel Gibson's smart, sassy contemporary romances are making her one of the genre's fastest rising stars.

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Anyone who has ever salivated over a sports pro or mooned after a movie star will relish this fanciful romance between brainy Seattle Times columnist Jane Alcott and hockey player Luc Martineau. Luc, nicknamed Lucky for his ability to score with women and keep his opponents from scoring on the ice, is less than thrilled to hear that Jane will be reporting on the team's games and digging into his unsavory past. Still, he can't help feeling attracted to the pint-sized writer, despite her drab clothes and unfortunate profession. For Jane, the assignment is the perfect opportunity to stop writing fluff and break into serious reporting. But following the progression of the puck turns out to be less challenging than getting the players to talk, particularly Luc, whose lusty looks make her want to ditch her black clothes and wear red. The two eventually wind up in bed together, but Luc's fear of commitment and Jane's fear of abandonment may keep them from taking the next step. Readers will find themselves cheering for the charming couple with the fervor of frenzied hockey fans. Like most fairy tales, this one involves an unlikely transformation (a red dress turns plain Jane into a seductress), but the minor contrivance won't dim readers' enjoyment of this witty, warm-hearted tale. (Feb.) Forecast: A vibrant cover featuring a pair of smooch-worthy lips should attract browsers, and praise from Elizabeth Lowell, Jayne Ann Krentz and Karen Robards will seal the deal. Gibson has garnered much critical acclaim and has a large fan base, so expect ample sales.

    Great heroine.

I had a great time with this book. I liked the heroine, Jane, and how she drove Luc crazy. She was everything that Luc thought he did not want and yet, turned out to be just what he needed. I especially loved how she converted him to a lover of small breasts. This has been my favorite Rachel Gibson book to date! Great read!

    Dont buy it.

Luc is the embodiment of every dumb jock cliche' that was ever imagined or has really existed. Disappointed in this book.

    Enjoyed!!!

I loved this book! Rachel brought the characters to life. I enjoyed seeing Jane and Luc's point of view. I enjoy how characters from past books come back in the future books. This is a definite re-read for me! Thanks Rachel for the great Chinook hockey series!!!

I WAS HESITANT TO BUY THIS BUT REALLY GLAD I DID

FROM THE DESCRIPTION OF THE BOOK I DIDN'T THINK I WOULD ENJOY THIS BOOK. I DON'T REALLY LIKE THE REPORTER / ALPHA TYPE OF BOOKS. I'M GLAD I TOOK THE CHANCE. LUC WAS GREAT. HE WASN'T AN OVERBLOWN ALPHA LIKE SOME HEROS IN THIS GENRE AND JANE HAD ENOUGH SPUNK WITHOUT BEING A PUSHOVER. OVER ALL A GREAT READ.

    One of my Faves

I have read and reread this book several times and it never gets old. Luc and Jane are such great characters and their individual story lines will have you pulling for them from page 1. The story line is a great one and the supporting characters are fun and interesting. It is one of my favorites for sure!

    Loved It!

I really loved this book! Luc's character was so well-developed that you could really relate to him. Funny, believeable characters, wicked hot romance. It's nice to see Ken end up with Skipper instead of Barbie once in a while (you'll understand what I mean when you read it!).

    Now a hockey fan!

Just kidding, but I sure would like to see if all the Chinooks are all hot for real! Ok, another Hockey book by Gibson. Again, it's sexual tension is great, and her love scenes pull at your heart, and...um...well, you know. What I enjoyed the most was Jane. Since most of Gibson's women have been big-busted and amazingly hot, Jane (plain Jane?) was a breath of welcomed fresh air for those of us who can identify with being plain Jane, but hot in our own way. The red dress makeover was a given, I saw it coming a mile away, but who cares, it still got me into the romance of Jane and Luc. I wish she would have developed Marie and Jane's relationship more, but there wasn't time and that wasn't the main focus, I guess. The idea of a woman in teh locker room was great, and I was right in there with Jane and felt her anxiousness with dropped jocks, but the scene where she walks in after being fired was unrealistic to me, but that of course leads into her nightly Luc encounter 'You big dumb dodo.' So sweet. Again, Gibson's love scenes pull at every fiber of my womanhood and I love it! While the Honey Pie tension wasn't so tense, I still liked the idea of the steamy alter-ego of plain Jane...good summer read!

    Great, Grand, Wonderful

I think the headline says it all. This was the second book by Gibson that I have read and I can't wait for the next one. Basically, plain and simple Jane's life gets thrown upside down when her new assignment is to be the sports reporter for the Chinhooks hockey team. Fun ensues as she learns how to deal with her new surroundings and the men. Gibson's quick and snappy dialog made this book a breeze to get through. I almost finished the book in one sitting without realizing it. The tension between Jane and Luc is amazing, smartly written, and so believable. As in most romance books there is a secret that leads to a fight but Bigson does a great job in not making it too corny and it's definately not an overdone scene. This is a steamy, fast-paced book and I loved every second of it.

    Great Romance

I really enjoyed 'See Jane Score'. It is a very sweet, cute story. At one point I actually cried over something incredibly sweet that happened, I won't tell you what just in case you haven't read the book yet. My only problem with this book was how quickly and frequently the two main characters changed their minds over what they wanted from each other. They each abruptly go back and forth several times between wanting a relationship and not wanting one. Despite this small flaw, 'See Jane Score' was a great and very entertaining read.

    Entertaining, fresh, and quirky

I really liked this book. I couldn't put it down. It made sense. It was believable the whole way through. It was a pleasant read. It wasn't too corney or gushy. Excellent contemporary romance.

    I LOVED IT!!

This is my favorite book! I read it while I was in class, going to classes, and in the car. I simply could not put the book down. I first saw it advertised in a book thing and I knew right then that I would absolutely love it! I still read it over and over and it still keeps me on my toes wondering whats going to happen.
