Megan Hazely wants to breeze into her hometown for her mother's wedding and slip back out before anyone really notices she's there. Unfortunately, Riverbed is still the small town she abandoned. Any new news is gossip-worthy. No one can resist speculating on the sparks likely fly between the hometown girl and the boy she left behind. Aiden Blake, the boy she loved has become a man. Time hasn't lessened the chemistry between them. A sizzle that should have died the day she hitchhiked out of town to a new life, but what life did she leave?
Aiden Blake hasn't been holding a torch for Megan after all this time. He's moved on. Doesn't matter no other woman has caught his eye in the same way. Means nothing. Unfortunately, now that she's back everyone believes it means a lot. Maybe, now, the hometown boy will once again find happiness with the one woman he's loved for all his life. A damn misguided idea, especially because she plans to blow out of town before her mother's bouquet starts to wither. A fine idea, except things between them don't feel finished, dead or done.
One unlikely indiscretion leads them both to question the past and what the future may hold. Megan must deal with the troubles she left behind, and, somehow leave again with her heart intact. It may not be possible. Aiden is intent on making her see all the things she'll be missing.
Melissa Blue’s writing career started on a typewriter one month after her son was born. This would have been an idyllic situation for a writer if it had been 1985, not 2004. Eventually she upgraded to a computer. She’s still typing away on the same computer, making imaginary people fall in love.
