B&N Exclusive Bonus Content: Find out what the Beyonders and heroes of Lyrian really think. Rachel & Jason interview each other and Drake & Ferrin interview each other!
The second epic installment of Brandon Mull's #1 New York Times bestselling fantasy series! After the cliffhanger ending of A World Without Heroes, Jason is back in the world he's always known—yet for all his efforts to get home, he finds himself itching to return to Lyrian. Jason knows that the shocking truth he learned from Maldor is precious information that all of his friends in Lyrian, including Rachel, need if they have any hope of surviving and defeating the evil emperor.
Meanwhile, Rachel and the others have discovered new enemies—as well as new abilities that could turn the tide of the entire quest. And as soon as Jason succeeds in crossing over to Lyrian, he's in more danger than ever. Once the group reunites, they strive to convince their most-needed ally to join the war and form a rebellion strong enough to triumph over Maldor. At the center of it all, Jason and Rachel realize what roles they're meant to play—and the answers are as surprising as they are gripping.

I've read all of Brandon Mull's books and in the second book of the Beyonders, he continues to weave a great story ending with a need to immediately read the next one! The characters continue to mature with each book. It's a must read!

After reading all his books, I really can't give Brandon Mull anything less than 5 stars. I felt this book didn't have as much of a substantial plot as others, but still very exciting. Perfect cliff hanger. Can't wait for the third book! Wow!

Brandon Mull once again takes us on another thrilling adventure with Jason and Rachel, the Beyonders who feel compelled to help those they have met in the alternate reality of Lyrian, the setting of his first book in the Beyonders Series, A World Without Heroes. Once again, they are constantly on the run, trying to find the answers to secrets that have long been buried. The settings change constantly, which is great because I was totally grossed out by the swamp scenes! What I really liked about this book was that we really get to know more about all of the characters in the book. There is a lot more to Rachel and Jason than first thought, and the secondary characters all have really neat stories too. It is not only an exciting read but more of a mystery as well as we get to know more about the characters.
