I saw the Seeds in concert when I was 13. They are probably my all-time
favorite American band--maybe my favorite band of all. The songs here
are not flawless; not every one is a jewel. But the best
ones--"Pushin' Too Hard" "Evil Hoodoo" "Mr
Farmer" and others--are among the finest recordings ever in a
protopunk/garage vein. Absolutely timeless. And their
"psychedelic" LP "Future" is even better. Over the
past quarter of a century I have owned quite a number of box sets: only
two remain in my collection, George Harrison's "All Things Must
Pass" and The Seeds' UK compilation "Flower Punk."
