Sehnsucht [Digipack]

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Rammstein's second album, Sehnsucht, finds the German prog metal band making a great leap forward. While the group still sounds a little unfocused in places, their blend of industrial noise, grinding metal guitars, and operatic vocals is staggeringly powerful. No other black metal band sounds like Rammstein, nor does any American metal group -- this is powerful, gothic metal that is unlike anything else in late-'90s metal. Sehnsucht may be an acquired taste, but it's one worth acquiring. [The CD was also released in a digipack.]

    Teutonically InDuStRiAl

This is one of Rammstein's devious albums due to the sexual content in many of the song themes, yet it's like nothing ever produced by any other Industrial-Techno-Goth-Rock group. Classified as NeueDeutschHart Musik, or New German Hard Music, it is a must have for anyone who wishes to acquire a taste of what the former East Germany has to offer! It's more than just Trabants, Berlin Walls and Ostalgie... This is an accumulation of everything that the band experienced in the old DDR through music! Barnes & Noble should always have the digipack version of the Album available here!!!
