As an interpreter of poetry for my school, I find May Sarton's work to convey a specific, effective degree of dramaticism and passion that I find in rare, special poets such as Barbara Kingsolver and Rita Dove. Ms. Sarton, whether praying with "The Invocation to Kali", or reminiscing "A Child's Japan", has this divine ability to demonstrate her abilities as a wordsmith and poet. To any who either do poetry interpretation or simply want to find a good book of poetry to curl up with, this collection is one in a million, and its vibrance and finesse make it, and May Sarton, one of our history's most treasured women writers. Was this review helpful?
