Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"…is a unique resource, the goal of which is to review empirically based treatments for psychiatric conditions. There are few other resources that parallel this volume, which essentially summarizes the majority of treatments that have been proven effective for mental illness. This book is a very thorough text that serves an important read. Whether reading it cover to cover or using it to research a specific mental condition, readers will not be disappointed." (Journal of Psychiatric Practice, September 2008)
Booknews
Presents diagnosis and treatment methods for all major disorders found in the DSM, synthesized from relevant current literature. Each chapter begins with an overview of the general type of disorder (e.g. mood disorders, anxiety disorders), presenting symptoms, predisposing factors, epidemiology, and other basic information, and then presents treatment options and examination of specific forms of the disorder. Case studies are also included and utilized as examples for choosing treatment modalities. Annotation c. by Book News, Inc., Portland, Or.

    Excellent.

I needed something extra to go along with my text book for a master's level psycholopharmacology class. I found this book, ordered it, and am glad that I did. This book is perfect as a text book and a reference book. Unlikely any student would return it for a textbook refund. I know I will be referring to it often.
