Excellence book for the small and light people

I feel that this book provide an array of techniques that are easy for anyone to learn and master. Master John Townsend provides information and steps on how to defend and quickly get out of trouble. He show that you don¿t have to be big and strong or workout everyday (although some daily workout of some kind is healthy for you) to defend yourself. These techniques can be taught to yourself and your children at home. I have seen on the News, over the years, of the young and less fortunate being grab on the street where people are close in the area and are taken for, THE RIDE, where as a simple technique could have bought them a little time to get to safety. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has to deal with the public in moderately unsafe situation.

An Excellent, well rounded martial arts book

I found this book to be an excellent example of the principles found in Mr. Townsend's art. I find it provides a good basis for self defense in a variety of situations, as well as dwelling enough on the philosophy of martial arts to convey the concept of chi. Admittedly, I am bias, as I am one of his art's students. I am still purchasing a copy for myself, as well as at least one other for a Christmas gift to a good friend of mine. Even being involved in the process of this book's creation and having deeper training than this book provides, I found this book to be valuable beyond my expectations.
