Overview

In an effort to improve as an author another proofreader was hired and this is the updated book.

True to his words, Sheriff Clem Peterson sends Agnes Barton and Eleanor Mason packing to Florida via a Cessna, but things go haywire when during a fuel stop, two men shoot the pilot. Agnes springs into action slamming the door just as shots are fired while Frank Alton jumps into the cockpit flying them out of there.

When they land in Florida, they're asked tough questions by Putner and Palmer from Homeland Security. They keep asking if they found a packet on board the plane, a packet that Agnes has tucked in her purse, but they never mention what's in the packet. She decides to hold onto it; after all it contains twenty-five thousand in cash.

Sheriff Calvin Peterson, Sheriff Clem Peterson's brother, picks them up from the airport in Florida, but tells them the bad news. His brother Clem made arrangements for them to stay at Sunny Brooke Retirement Village and work as the hired help to pay for their room and board. They go unwillingly, but discover in town that two maids have disappeared at Sunny Brooke.

It's a race against the clock; will Agnes and Eleanor solve the case of the missing maids and finally figure out what happened to their pilot before they also show up on a milk jug?

This is probably the worst book I have ever started to read. The spelling & grammar is poor and the characters are ridiculous. I would not recommend this book. .99 was too much to pay for it.

Not thrilled with the style of writing or with the characters. Could not get past 64 pages. Did not care what happened.

Poorly plotted annoying characters and badly researched author obviously dislikes seniors or is threatened by age

I am reading the third book in a cozy mystery series; Senior Snoops (An Agnes Barton senior sleuth mystery) by Madison Johns and have to say I do NOT recommend it. For the first time in a very long time, I am so disappointed. There are so many grammatical errors, misspelled and misused words, and the author jumps from one scene to the other with no flow. I HAVE to finish it to see who the killer is, but it's painful. If this was the first book, I could understand, but this is the third. The first two had a couple of mistakes, and were very good. The author is great, but the proofreader needs to work a bit harder.

I admit to enjoying the ladies. They remind me of my very intelligent but ditzy momma. There're enough sub-plots to keep me guessing. It's not exactly high literature, but it is a quick and pleasant read.

Title: Senior Snoops (Agnes Barton Senior Snoops Book 3) Author: Madison Johns Publisher: Outrageous Books Published: 6-9-2013 Pages: 170 ASIN: B00DBEWQ5Y The end of Grannies Guns and Ghosts with Agnes Barton and Eleanor Mason winning the bet with Sheriff Clem Petersen. The opening of book 3 shows that Peterson is a man true to his word. The Sheriff hands an envelope to the pilot and arranges transportation with a pilot friend who is flying to Florida. El and Agnes are joined by Frank Alton and his wife Dorothy who happens to be El's nemesis, El's boyfriend Mr. Wilson who no one including himself can remember his first name, Agnes's boyfriend Andrew who was her boss many years before and Agnes's daughter Martha. The plane makes a stop for refueling. Agnes is looking out the window when she sees two men approach the pilot and search him. Apparently not finding what they were looking for while they were questioning one of the men shot him. Agnes runs and shuts and locks the door. Frank slips into the pilot seat and takes to the sky. Getting hold of the authorities they land at a nearby airport. They are met by Clide Palmer and Adam Putner from Home and Security that accuse them of lying about the attempted highjacking and shooting of the pilot. They found no evidence of neither. They ask about a packet wanting to know if anyone would know about that? Agnes keeps quiet about the envelope she found in the cockpit with $25,000.00 in it. Telling them they will be in touch the group of seniors is released to go. Calling Sheriff Peterson back in Michigan to tell him what has happened He promises to get someone to come and get them. Falling asleep in the Airport lobby they are awakened by Sheriff Peterson. That is Sheriff Calvin Peterson. Seems that Sheriff Clem Peterson has a brother whose a sheriff in Florida. As the exit the airport they ask Calvin if he was there to take them to the hotel. Calvin laughs and tells the group that Clem made arrangements for them to stay and work at the Sunny Brooke Retirement Village. rumbling the get on the bus and head out. Arriving at the Village they are all assigned jobs accept Martha and Andrew; Martha because she disappeared while they had stopped on the way to the Village and Andrew because he had the money to find a place on his own. They are cleaning rooms when they come across the patio where the two employees disappeared into the swamp and believed to have been eaten by crocodiles. Spooked by a snake they run into the room of one of the guest, Eugene Bragsworth. He and Dorothy seem quite taken with one another. By the end of the day they are exhausted and are tempted to head back to Michigan. Agnes and El decide to stick it out until they can find out what happened to the two missing housekeepers. Squaring their shoulders they prepare to hunt for missing people, prove that there pilot had been shot and find out what the $25,000 means. Agnes Barton and El Mason are back and it does not take them long to get into trouble. Even if he's friendlier than Clem, Sheriff Calvin Peterson is just as stubborn as his brother. Repeatedly telling the two senior snoops to but out of his investigations the ladies go about their way to to find the clues, evade homeland security and keep the married Dorothy away from her new crush. Just as humorous as the previous two books. An entertaining adventure for the Senior Snoops. One you will find delightful. Follow along as the Snoops meet the mother of the two sheriffs, pick up a stalker, find some missing jewels and form a plan. If you haven't read book 1 or 2 don't worry this can be read as a stand alone, but if possible read the books in order to get a better sense of the characters and their history. Enjoy! Madison Johns has done it again. Bright and lively characters.

What a mixture of fun and suspence!I wish it didn't end! It is based in my age group ad have also been a volunteer in a nursing homeafter my retirement. Some of it is so true to life. Life in these situations are a combination of sadness and hilarity. Someone is always "stealing" another persons property. It's hard being elderly and can unwittingly create hilarious situations. This novel has it all,and I can't wat to start the next next one. It has all fun and mystery you could want. Being of a certain age myself, you may find me within these pages myself one of these days. Enjoy your reading!!
