Emma Thompson's screenplay and diaries of the marvelous film Sense and Sensibility is a wonderful book. The screenplay (which, incidentally, is the original script, not the shooting script) is as splendid as the film - funny and touching. The photos are beautiful, and really add a lot, whether you own the paperback with black and white stills or the lush hardcover volume. Both are equally wonderful, something no true fan of the film or Jane Austen's novel should be without. Emma Thompson's diaries are wickedly funny, I found myself laughing out loud at times. The behind the scenes photos are a real treat. (There are some swear words and verbal crudeness in the book, but if you can overlook this, by all means do.) This is a beautiful volume, and a wonderful companion to the film and novel. I love this film, and the ending was perfect. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
