This is an intriguing story full of suspense, secrets and hot steamy sex! The chemistry between Jay and Ellie plus their hopes for a future together is intense. It comes down to trust but a secret could tear them apart. A great storyline and realistic characters keep you enthralled from beginning to end. I love reading books by Katie Reus; she has such finesse with the written word you are captivated throughout the entire story. Received copy for review

I just finished Sensual Surrender by Katie Reus and I am so glad I have found such an awesome romantic suspense author. I love that Katie can write both long and short stories with varying levels of suspense. Sensual Surrender was more about the characters than the suspenseful plot of the story. The story was laid out for us so there was not a lot of suspense, except for the little twist at the end. However, I enjoy reading different types of romantic suspense and this one fit the bill for a short, lighter romantic suspense story. Sensual Surrender is the second in The Serafina: Sin City Series and I really enjoyed it. There was a perfect balance of story and intimacy and fit the characters and plot well. Although this book is part of a series, it stands on its own. However, I always enjoy books in a series because I get to see what former characters are up to. It's like seeing old friends! Jay and Ellie are the main characters in this story and we see them a little bit in the first book of the series. In Sensual Surrender, Jay and Ellie are doing well in their relationship and Jay even wants to ask Ellie to marry him, until her ex comes into the picture and messes things up for them. Ellie feels the only way to keep Jay out of danger is to leave him. Boy was she wrong... Katie does a great job with novellas, which I would consider this one. She is able to develop strong characters making you feel as if you have known them for a long time. Her descriptions of emotions and dialogue are always great and I find myself flying through her books. The plot in Sensual Surrender was unique and almost seemed too easy, which, in part it was supposed to, but then she added a little twist at the end. The romance between Jay and Ellie was very sweet. I enjoyed the respect they showed for one another and the gentle passion of their relationship. The ending was absolutely perfect. If you are looking for a quick romantic suspense read, I highly recommend you give Sensual Surrender a try!

## It was just average I'm afraid. The overview sounded so good. However, I didn't like that this couple was already together a year, thus no build up to their relationship. It felt like I came into the story at the middle. I sort of felt cheated. I was intrigued with the note Ellie left for Jay, saying goodbye. But then he finds her an hour later so that was a little disappointing. And the scene in the cave didn't really feel like self defense. I don't think I'll read again. Apprx. 140 pages.

Ever had a past that you wished you could forget? That haunted your waking moments? Made you fear how others would think of you if they knew what you had done? Making you feel more alone and isolated from those you have come to know and love? A fear that your past could harm those you love? What if that very past returned seeking you out, taunting you...making you feel that the person you have become is only a mask you wear? Ellie fought these vary feelings and notions. Looking deep into her own reflection, feeling she was a fraud. That she could never out run her past. That the future she built was a lie. I enjoyed delving within her life through Katie Reus' writing. The connection between Ellie and Jay was so deep, so full of passion. The friends she has gained, being true friends that would stand by her through all of life's hardships and joys. Just a protective as she was trying to be by running. Will Jay and Ellie's relationship be no more? Or will the chaotic events that unfold not only give her peace of mind that their connection is strong but their love is true and forever? Will her past be what tears her friends and loved ones away or will they show that true friendship withstands the flames? Don't wait to find out..dive in and sink her teeth into this Sensual Surrender.

133pgs Fast read...good story. At times I wished the story was longer and the romance scenes shorter, but all in all a good read. I recommend reading Wyatt & Iris' story in the Red Stone Security series before starting this series.

I really, really enjoyed this book.  In fact, the length is the only reason why I am giving it a four instead of a five.  I normally won't even read novellas, but I love Katie Reus so much that I make an exception for her.    Jay and Ellie are both likeable, real characters with great chemistry.  If you need something to do for an evening, pick up this book for a very hot, entertaining read.

Jay is perfect, like make me sigh perfect. He’s in love with Ellie, and willing to stick by her through thick and thin. He’s written as the perfect hero and I found myself wanting to be Ellie so I could have his attention. Ellie is pretty strong and I totally understood her motivations even if I was a bit sad that she was hurting Jay. Ms. Reus does a great job building up suspense and writing a story that I will re-read and highly recommend to all my friends. It’s full of intrigue, action and a lot of sexy romance between Jay and Ellie. I look forward to more books in this series. I received a copy in exchange for my honest review. I was not compensated for my review.

I cannot believe katie reus wrote this. I can see why it was only $2.99. So disconnected and just boring. It seems much more about the sex than a serious plot that I could care about. The story just does not flow, and I have enjoyed her books until now.

Good book but a little too short....it felt a little but rushed at times....however i loved the characters and look forward to the next one.

140 page book---I'm liking this new spinoff series about the people at the club in L. Vegas, although I did like the RedStoneSecurity series I think I like the new series better--not so much international intrigue--more about things going on right here (gangsters and stuff instead of spies). Anyway I liked this story and did read it in one sitting. Looking forward to the next one in the series. If you are wondering about Wyatt & Iris. --their story was in the RedStoneSecurity series -- "Breaking Her Rules". Happy

Once again, Katie Reus hits it out the park with Sensual Surrender. I absolutely loved everything about this book. The dynamics between all the characters (not just Jay and Ellie) are fantastic and make the story have more edges which is something I love in the books I read. I was a little worried with the fact that Jay and Ellie were already an established couple before this book started but it ended up to be unnecessary worry. The chemistry between these two were explosive and I completely fell in love with these two! I would totally recommend this book to anyone who loves a romance story filled with twists and turns, action, sass! I will definitely re-read this book!

Ellie has found happiness. She loves her job and her lover, Jay. He is the best thing that has happened to her. Her life is perfect until she receives a threatening phone call from an ex-boyfriend. He demands that she help him steal from her employer and friend, Wyatt Christiansen. Ellie is trapped. What can she do? Is she strong enough to leave? Ellie and Jay complete each other. They are a passionate couple who need to be together. Their relationship is deeply sensual and very romantic. The suspense-filled plot and strong characters kept me riveted. I love that Katie included people that we've met before. It was like taking a trip back home to catch up with friends. The action is non-stop. I must admit that the ending took me by surprise. Katie Reus is a excellent writer. This story is skillful crafted and left me wanting more. I am anxious for the next book in The Serafina: Sin City Series.

Sin City, Suspense and Sex - what an awesome combination! Sensual Surrender is the second book in the Serafina Sin City Series. This series began as a spin off from Red Stone Security’s Breaking Her Rules (Iris and Wyatt’s story) Sensual Surrender can be read as a stand-alone book. This book features Ellie and Jay. Ellie has created a new life for herself . But, mistakes she made in the past come back to haunt her. When Ellie’s past catches up with her rather than involve Jay (her longtime live-in lover) she decides to try and handle it on her own, basically leaving Jay a “Dear John” note. Jay will do anything to find her, help her and protect her. It was very easy to relate to Ellie and the stupid choices that she made as a teenager and when she did to overcome her past and build a new life for herself. She was a little frustrating in that she did not have more faith in Jay and had not shared her past with him – however it was kind of understandable why she did this when everything came to light. Jay is the ultimate alpha hero and someone you would want to have in your corner day or night. This is a well written romantic suspense book that will keep you turning pages until you are finished. Although I was provided an ARC of this book for an honest review, I also purchased the book.

I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review. Honest truth, this book is a page-turner that kept me guessing, and it had an ending I was not prepared for. Ellie is running away from her current lover/boyfriend, Jay in order to protect him. He, along with various other employees of Wyatt's, find out and set out to help and protect her. The trouble is her convicted ex-boyfriend, who wants her to the inside person for a robbery. Ellie finds the strength to protect the people she loves, and I love her for that. There are a lot of characters that reappear, both from the first Serafina: Sin City novel but also Katie's Red Stone Security. It's like revisiting all of my favorite characters to see what's happening with them. This book has everything: action, romance (with steamy sex scenes), and a feeling of friendship though the entire story. It was a quick read, grabbing my attention from page one.

Great book. If you like your males Alpha... then Jay does not disappoint. He cuts through all the BS with Ellie and just gets to the point. This pretty much sets the stage for the entire story. In your face, no games.  Enjoyed the interaction with the secondary characters, made the main characters more well rounded.  ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review

Ellie works at the Serafina casino for the billionaire boss, and lives with the boss's head of security, Jay. Jay and Ellie are in love, and Jay is about to propose. Then Ellie's past catches up to her. She feels she must solve her problem on her own. In order to keep Jay and her friends and boss safe, she goes on the run.  Jay soon finds her and her secret is revealed. They also discover that her trouble is even more deadly and complicated than they thought. Assuming they all survive, will Ellie and Jay be able to reclaim the happiness they once had? My thoughts: Although Ellie shows some backbone later in the novella, in the beginning she makes an unfortunate decision. Okay, a stupid decision. Okay, okay. She makes a couple of less-than-stellar, less-than-honest decisions. Jay is an admirable character. He's so protective of Ellie that it's downright sexy. I wish we'd heard more of the story from his POV. The plot moves along at a good pace. There's a twist at the end that's a nice surprise. All in all, this is a good romantic suspense with a hero, heroine, secondary characters, and plot that you'll enjoy for a quick read. ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Totally enjoyed the second book in this series. It was action packed and fast. The relationship between the characters was great. I love a book that has 2nd and 3rd characters that show up in following books. It’s like visiting old friends. I believe you will enjoy this book.

In the tradition of her Red Stone Security series, Katie Reus writes another hot romance. Ms. Reus excels are writing characters with chemistry that sizzles off the page. Ellie and Jay are no different. The best parts of the story are when they are together. Coming from a disadvantaged past, Ellie has worked her way to become the personal assistant to one of the wealthiest men. When her past comes back to haunt her, she makes the decision to sacrifice her relationship with Jay and run away rather than involve her friends and lover. I hate to say it, but this is when the story becomes familiar. No good decision ever happens from running! Luckily, our alpha and friends are great at coming to the rescue and we have a satisfying HEA.   IN A NUTSHELL: This is a fun, if a little predictable, read.

Sensual Surrender (The Serafina: Sin City series) Ellie, a girl with a past she rather forget, and has forgotten, for the most part. She has moved on from the girl she was, and now has a successful job and a great man that loves her completely. Jay, a former Navy Seal, has found love like he never thought possible with Ellie, and he is ready for more. Is she ready for everything Jay is offering. All it takes is one call to shatter everything and set Ellie to running. A past she thought was behind her for good, has come up and is threatening the life she has built for herself.  Leaving behind the only man she has ever loved, will ever love, is the only thing she can do that will protect him, and all her friends, from the danger after her. When Jay discovers Ellie has run from him, he is devastated, but he will do anything to get her back. She needs to know he will be there for her, always.  But can Ellie trust in him, and in what they have. This story started out fast, and didn't stop straight through to the end.  I laughed and fell in love with Ellie and Jay. Another amazing read by Katie Reus.  *ARC provided by author for an honest review*

This book hits the ground running. Very fast paced and keeps the reader engaged. The writing is also smooth. Ellie and Jay are both very likeable characters. Katie Reus also grabs the readers interest in Ellie's chef friend as well as Jay's brother. This story has bombs, drug cartels, DEA, jewel heist, ex-military spec ops men, and hot sex. What else is there to say.

Action and suspense in Vegas… This is the second of The Serafina: Sin City series but can be read as a stand-alone.  When Ellie was 17 she made some unwise choices including becoming involved with a criminal who was sent to prison. Eight years later the past she had thought well hidden threatens to destroy the future that she has built for herself. She decides to go on the run, leaving her job and dumping her boyfriend, to protect those she loves without giving them the opportunity of choosing to help her for it would mean sharing details of her past and of herself that she is not proud of. Jay comes home to find a goodbye note from Ellie, the woman he loves. There is no explanation just an appeal not to search for her. There is no way that this former Navy SEAL will oblige that request. Something is wrong and it is up to him to find and protect her even is she doesn’t trust him enough to tell him her truths. With the help of Ellie’s boss and the security team from the Serafina casino, where they both work, Ellie is tracked down and just in time.  This story occurs in Las Vegas. Ellie’s ex-boyfriend is out of prison and he not only wants the money he left with her but her help to rob the casino that she works at. Ellie does not have all of his money which she used to pay for tuition and she cannot help him rob from the boss who has been so good to her and that is why she ran.  With the truth now out about her past Jay and friends stand by Ellie with a plan to bring her ex and those he is now involved with to justice. But she has damaged the trust in their relationship. There are things she needs to accept and trust in, like the depth of Jay’s love. This story had much action and suspense plus sexiness. Some of the characters were first seen in the Red Stone Security series from which this series is a spin-off. There was an interesting plot line and multiple points of views with a surprising ending. This reader didn’t think she had it in her. But then when those you love are threatened you do what you have to do. ARC provided by the author.
