Exciting adventure, but I still miss the show

Those Left Behind ties up some loose threads from the Firefly and introduces the principal villain in Serenity. The story is okay but not great. Unfortunately, the comics medium doesn't lend itself to the rapid-fire banter and subtle interplays between characters that set Firefly/Serenity so far apart from most other sci-fi series. The real standout here is Will Conrad's artwork. My experience with the computer-aided coloring that's become so popular the past few years is that it makes everything look very pretty but leaches away an artist's individual style. Conrad uses realistically-posed characters and detail-crammed panels to buck this trend. This won't win over any converts to the Firefly/Serenity universe, but if you're already a fan, it's worth checking out.

    Great

Yes, this series is great, and it shows more into the series but then again doesn't answer very many questions. I love it, it gives me the firefly i need to survive. I hope theres more after "Better Days". Also i recommend buying the hardcover, i made the mistake of not doing that, and it comes with some extra goodies that firefly fans will love, next time i hit BN, im picking up the hardcover.

Can't take the sky from me!

Like everyone in the known and intelligent Universe, I needed more Firefly/Serenity. And like he always does, Joss delivers here again (along with all the fab folks at Dark Horse) in the pages of "Those Left Behind."

Well-told, beautifully drawn, and pitch-perfect to the film and series, S:TLB fills the story gaps you wondered about before now, gives us added "face time" with favorite characters - and the added character art, pre-production notes and sketches for the film will delight fans of both graphic novels and the Whedonverse alike. Can't wait to see "Volume 2: Better Days!"

    I Also Recommend:

    Nothing like it

As Nathan Fillion said, there is nothing like making a major motion picture to make you feel better about your t.v. show being canceled.
This comic book must have the same feeling for Josh Whedon, that everyone that put down his ideas was simply too simple to understand, to see the appeal, the ability to insipire a die-hard cult following. It's the same characters, only drawn instead of acted. If you like Firefly or Serenity, you'll like this.
