Overview

These sermon outlines on the whole Bible were created by Charles Simeon to train young pastors in expository preaching. The 21 volume series containing over 2500 sermons was completed in 1833. They are also a value Bible study tool. This book contains the first 62 sermon outlines which covers the book of Genesis.

The different editions of the sermon outlines currently available for sale in print and electronic form are mainly digital reproductions of Simeon's original work, Homae Homilecticae, created from scanning the early editions of the work. Clarabelle Books is heavily annotating the books so they are more suitable for e-readers. The original work has thousands of footnotes which are mainly scripture references. We have placed these in the body of the text and removed almost all of the footnotes. We have also converted the Roman numerals contained in the footnotes and text to numbers for ease of use. The table of contents and footnotes have active links. We plan to publish the entire sermon outline series.

About the Author

Charles Simeon was fellow of King's College and senior minister of Holy Trinity Church in Cambridge, England from 1783 until his death in 1836. During his ministerial career at Trinity he helped found several mission societies including the Church Mission Society, affiliated with the Anglican Church, and the London Society for Promoting Christianity Among the Jews. He was a great supporter of the missionary endeavor and helped send several missionaries overseas, including Henry Martyn, who officially held the position of chaplain in the East India Company.
