I seldom have the pleasure of reading a business book that stretches its roots so deeply into matters of personal importance. The introduction of mindfulness into the existing doctrines of servant leadership is a perfect fit, and one that Matt Tenney melds together with meaningful examples taken from the business context. This is no “quick fix” methodology for leadership enhancement. When applied in the way Matt suggests, it is a life changing road that enriches relationships, inner peace, and the world of work. I strongly recommend a careful reading of Serve To Be Great.

I first saw Matt Tenney at a business conference and experienced his powerful message. He gave his book to me for free,
and I loved the inspiring examples of people and business who use servant leadership. To be honest, this is the most powerful
book I have read in my life. His novel is split into three different parts: his journey to become a servant leader, examples of why
servant leadership is prosperous for business, and how to become a leader who receives the most by giving the most. If you
are a executive who needs help motivating himself or herself and employees or is a burgeoning business student trying to figure
out how to be happy in the business world, this is the book for you. Most of the proceeds from the sales goes to charities as well.

I saw Matt speak at an MPI New England Educational Conference and was quite moved by his genuineness - it began a change in my outlook and thinking. After reading the "Secret" and hearing Crane Stookey,("Keep your People in the Boat") Matt's book arrived as a pleasant surprise. The combination of mindfullness, selflessness and looking outward truly can open your eyes to a kinder, happier and more fullfilling life. The book pulls together simple but powerfull examples of taking a path to living a meaningful life. In the words of the Cowardly Lion, "If I were King of the Forest",,,every employer would practice Servant Leadership.

I had the pleasure of reading Matt Tenney's book and also speaking with for our upcoming Everyday Humanitarians conference and he is a real inspiration. I loved talking with him just as much as I loved reading the stories in his book. If you want a fun introduction to mindfulness meditation and some great examples of how it is impacting our world and being used in organizations, businesses and nonprofits to make a big difference in the world, check out Matt's book. You won't regret it!
