I have been on several trips and read several books on this topic and this one is my favorite.  I also work with a non-profit organization that serves a third world country.  I can sadly say that the illustrations in this book outline what I have seen in missionaries, both short term and long term.  The research is solid and the book is well laid out.  I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have used it in training people to go on trips.  Further, I have given this book to several people as a gift.  Wisdom is the first step to making a difference and Mr. Livermore provides us with wisdom through this book.
