All Music Guide - John Bush
The second volume in a series of reissues including original Sesame Street LPs, Sesame Street: Old School, Vol. 2 includes cardboard facsimiles of 1974's Grover Sings the Blues, 1974's My Name Is Roosevelt Franklin (originally released in 1971), and 1975's The Count Counts. Grover is joined on his record by Ernie and some other Muppets, while Roosevelt Franklin gets filled out with a whole family to help him learn about life ("Skin I'm In," "Keep on Trying," "Halfies"). Meanwhile, the Count gets most of the best material; his LP, The Count Counts, has a Top 40 countdown concept with fun radio plugs and a lot of familiar songs, whether from the television show or their original versions ("Lady Bug's Picnic," "Candy Man," "It's Been a Long, Long Time," "Beep").
