With the help of her friends, she sets out to establish a queer-positive league instead. The league will celebrate diversity and be somewhere LGBTQ2S+ kids can feel at home. When the school resists their efforts and then insists on a cringey name for the team--the Gay Alliance Club-- the friends, with the help of a sympathetic teacher, establish the league in their own space and on their own terms, learning a lot about empowerment, activism, and community in the process.
