Marcome does not push the lyrics forward as one might expect from Streisand. She blends her voice as one of many instruments creating an inviting atmosphere where one can choose to relate to the words or not. The keyboard orchestrations, augmented with percussion are sophisticated and rich, exotic...and surprisingly spiritual. Mark Langis's work on fretless bass is superb.
