I read this book in the 6th grade. Looking back, I was way too young to read some of the themes this book offers. I had gotten to know Elsie since her 5th grade bbok, and it was reassuring to know that the fat girl could turn out ok in the end. Craddock became my personal hearthrob through the pages and I was curious to see if Elsie would go on the 'pill' (something quite unknown to me at the time). It would be years before I would face the pressures of guys with stationwagons, but this book helped me with those decisions once they arrived. This is a great book for early teens because it can be a basis for dialogues on dating, intimate activity, etc.

She was a seventeen year old girl. She liked boys a lot. She used to have two boyfriends at the same time. Her name was Jenny. She wrote letters all the time. she loved e-mailing them all day everyday. Jenny wrote a letter to her friend named Elsie. She talked about her two boyfriends. She doesn't know what to do with one of her boyfriends because she liked them both. Jenny wrote another letter to Elsie.
