Seventh Heaven

Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Carol Wright
Flamenco takes a holiday on this smooth and sultry album by the German-born guitarist Govi. The musical odyssey begins with a percussive beat on "Rising in Love." The flamenco fires are oxygen-fueled on "Mediterrano" as Govi's guitar accelerates, and then "Havana Sunset" settles the mood for a smoldering evening of romance. Don Lax on viola and violin adds come-hither flavors to the serenade. Lax also sits in on "Walking on Clouds," which features heavenly vibes courtesy of Karanesh's sound programming. Govi adds...

Don Lax on viola and violin adds come-hither flavors to the serenade. Lax also sits in on "Walking on Clouds," which features heavenly vibes courtesy of Karanesh's sound programming. Govi adds a lot of Latin percussion and flamenco keyboard colors, but the most arresting tracks on the album are his short solo, "Language of the Heart," and the multi-guitar "Garden of Eden." The album ends with "Wings of Love," a heartening anthem for flute and guitars that gently enfolds you in its rapture.
All Music Guide - Zac Johnson
A refined collection of flamenco-styled classical guitar in Govi's familiar style. Seventh Heaven is an ideal soundtrack for sitting on the veranda, overlooking the coffee bean fields and sipping a fine dry wine -- or maybe just adding a little class to some re-heated Mexican food in your cramped apartment. The smooth, soft guitar work from this California-based musician has sold millions of albums and offers a perfect backdrop for a relaxing evening.

    The Best, Bar None

This cd has a certain eloquence and grace that would be very difficult to parallel. You never tire of it - it brings out a certain peacefulness in you that you must experience. All Govi's cds are good - this is the best.
