I am so hooked on Shirley's series. Ophelia and Abby are ladies I would love to be friends with. Shirley makes them and the settings real. I have read the whole series and anticipate each new arrival. The Seventh Witch was especially enjoyable since I grew up in shadows of the Appalachian Mountains just across the North Carolina state line with women practicing some of the "old ways". I wholeheartedly suggest the purchase of this and any of the Ophelia series.

Truly this is the best in the series. I really like the person that Ophelia has become. She is a strong woman that does what is best for her family. Abby has always been one of my favorite characters. It was interesting to learn more about her past. I am a little disappointed with the rumors that this is the last of the series. I'd love to read more.

I am once again impressed and happy about the writing of Shirley Damsgaard. I am never disappointed when I read her books. I love the Ophelia and Abby story. Each one is unique and amazing. And everytime I feel like I get to know their family a little better. To me, books are like little movies in my mind and I love getting the next chapter of their lives. I buy books, read them and then I send them by mail to my family and friends. We all read the same type of books. I am always the first to get my hands on new books. So I love being able to read them and send them on for others to enjoy. When they are finished, we send them to libraries to stock on their shelves. I cannot wait for the next installment in the Ophelia and Abby legacy.

I enjoy that with each book in the series, you learn a little more about the characters as well as glimpses of the culture in different parts of the U.S. I'm glad she brought Ethan into another book and I love Aunt Dot. I think this book will prove to be one of my favorites in the series.

I fell in love with the characters in the first book. I continue to love how they are developing. I like how the main characters grow and accept and change in believable ways. How the changes are not easy and are not quick but they come about as the only way to grow into the person they need to be. I love the wisdom of age shown in Abby, the acceptance of being who you are and the working with it to become who you want to be. I love the respect that is shown to the characters. I love the tentative search for love and the way that it is not given as a certainty but as a possibility. This is a great book in a great series. I recommend this series totally. The only thing wrong with it is how I came across this latest entry by accident! But, I did find it!
