Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble

First, Jimmy Beans Wool founder Laura Zander taught us to sew red; now she's making a graceful leap forward to sewing and quilting red. And to celebrate women's heart health, she invited more than 25 crafting celebrities to share their stories, tips, and patterns. Editor's recommendation. (P.S. For years, Zander's Stitch Red campaign has been raising the awareness of women to the potential dangers of heart disease.)

Library Journal
In this follow-up to Knit Red, luminaries of the sewing and quilting worlds present projects intended to inspire women to take better care of their hearts. The list of contributors reads like a who's who of the sewing world, with popular designers such as Denyse Schmidt, Amy Butler, Kaffe Fassett, and Anna Maria Horner supplying projects. A wide variety of styles and techniques is represented, from apparel sewing to accessories to quilting. The majority of the projects are small and simple, but some, like Marcia Harmening's stunning appliquéd Queen of Hearts quilt, are for more experienced crafters. Patterns are included as needed. VERDICT Though the heart health tips and stories can be a little hokey and forced, the message is a good one, and the variety of projects in the collection make it an excellent value.
