Hone Your Skills

Check out the technique section, which includes step-by-step photos, to freshen up your skills and learn about a few new notions, too. Next, move on to the projects to put your know-how in motion.

  • Flip to the Simple Bags for something quick and fun to sew. And even though these bags are easy to make, the end results are clever and cute.
  • Step it up in the Intermediate Bags section, with bags that play up your style. Learn a few new skills, try out a few new tools and make yourself a bag you can really show off.
  • The Challenging Bags section takes you to the level of bag maven. The bags' construction may be complex, but the instructions are not. Sew it together step by step, and find yourself with a truly professional, beautifully constructed bag.

The bags in this book are truly extraordinary—and with Kay's instruction, they are oh-so-easy to make.

This rating is for the nook version. Don't buy it. It's a great book in paper but the paper version has patterns included. The nook version does not which makes it useless. You pay the same amount as you would getting it in paper and don't have the patterns. No where on this site does it mention that it doesn't have the patterns or that you will need them.

This is the book of all bags book!

Received my book last week and have not put it down! Had a guest visiting me when it arrived....immediately she not only loved it she had been looking for a bag just like The Green Grocery Bag where there were no attached straps to rip off when carrying heavy groceries. I personally have fabric long awaiting the perfect, easy style and complementary bags to begin using up this stash. Perfect for everyone! Concise directions, included patterns to use with all imaginations; and best of all with categories for all sewers. So whether you are a beginner or advanced sewer this book has it all! If you are a beginner you will graduate in no time to get to the bags at the advanced stage! This very stimulating book will get you up and sewing...getting your creative juices flowing...no more sitting and turning pages just looking at the pictures and promising to do them in the "future." Order it now and experience the joy of accomplishment in no time!

Really Great book for Making Purses

I bought this book to make purses for myself and my friends. This book has the patterns in the back which most books don't so this was a big plus for me. The designs were original and somewhat different from other books about purse making. This book also has the best descriptions on the types of things(fabrics, interfacings, handles, etc.) needed to accomplish the projects. The directions are easy to follow and I think there is a type of purse for every taste. Really good book on the making of the purse.
