“Great fun!” - The Miami
Herald

Named one of Time Magazine's top 10
graphic novels for 2013!

Suzie's just a regular gal with an irregular gift: when she has sex, she stops time. One day she meets Jon and it turns out he has the same ability. And sooner or later they get around to using their gifts to do what we'd ALL do: rob a couple banks.

A bawdy and brazen sex comedy for comics begins here, by Matt Fraction (Satellite Sam, Hawkeye) and Chip Zdarsky
(Prison Funnies, Monster Cops).

"On the surface, this is a hilarious story of two people, Suzanne and Jon, with the power to stop time after they orgasm, and then rob banks while (almost) everyone else is frozen in time, which is an amazingly original idea. But underneath that, this is a story of the beginning of a relationship: its exciting newness, its terrifying possibilities, its ups and downs, its secrets and understandings, and, of course, its sex." - PW

Editorial Reviews

The New York Times Book Review - Douglas Wolk
Zdarsky's fluid, brightly hued artwork is dense with smutty gags, but this is a deeper, more understated comedy than it initially seems. It's really about how desire is policed from within and without, how sex can be both a refuge from isolation and its cause, and how the roving hands of youth are often frantically groping for understanding.

This was a weird volume. The art style was good though. I might read the next one.

I was actually really excited about reading this because I know a lot of people like it, but for me…it was really off putting. I do like that it sorta pokes fun at how people perceive the issue of sex as something fun to laugh at and enjoy talking about between friends, but then there are the problems I have with it. There was just a point half way through that I got tired of all of the sexual innuendoes and puns to where it just got a gross and a little too much for me. Another problem I want to address is that for me to really like a comic I have to like the art work and I'm not saying it's terrible, it's just not my cup of tea. Last thing is that the idea of two people being able to stop time by having sex is a great idea, but I just don't think the creators are really taking advantage of the idea in my opinion. And the story goes into sex police and is really silly at times and I just don't know where it's going and not in a good way. With all this said I don't think this is a bad comic or that no one should read it, I know there are people out there who'll enjoy this and still do, but it's just not for me.

I had heard so much about this graphic novel, and I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it. It was hilarious, crude, and sexually explicit. What's not to love? Haha

Sex Criminals is the best new comic of the past few years, shadowed only by Saga. The writing is hilarious and sometimes completely over the top with innuendo and explicit themes, but the comic is just a blast to read.  For Mature Readers Only: DUH

Orgasm stops time? An interesting and original series in which our “heroine”.discovers that her orgasms stop time. She then discovers that she is not alone to have this strange ability. She and her partner turn to crime during the Quiet (when time stands still) but get discovered with consequences. The artwork is basic but well-executed with a little too much colour for my liking. Quite fun, not for the prudish.
