    Hot

Sand, Surf and Fun has a whole different meaning with Sex on the Beach. Summer is not complete without a little "Sand and Wave" romance. Throw in a couple HOT hunks and and point me toward the coast! Amber Skyze's has put "Sizzling Heat" back in beach parties and summer romance.

Alley Sandler is an stressed out workaholic who has been running 24/7 at her job for quite sometime. After getting physically sick and realizing she has to change her lifestyle, she quits her demanding job and heads for her friend Pam's beach-house for some much needed rest and relaxation.

Tony Razzano is a 6 foot tall green-eyed sexy Italian who happens to live at the beach-house next door. When Alley sets her eyes on him, thoughts of seduction scenarios creep into her conscious. What Alley does not realize is that Tony is an undercover cop looking for a new drug dealer in town. When Alley makes the mistake of labeling her medications in baggies for her convenience and Tony spies on her and sees her doing this, Tony starts to wonder if perhaps Alley might be the person he has been looking for. But there is a major problem, Tony is extremely attracted to Alley. How can he justify having a relationship with a possible suspect? But we already know the sex will be HOT between our two main characters. After-all that's why we call it erotic!

Tony finds himself scoping out Alley and getting closer to her to know her better (for his job of course..."wink, wink"). He figures this way he can see if she is his drug dealer, yet desperately hoping he is wrong. Soon this blazing affair ignites. How are these two going to keep their hands off each other when Tony finds circumstantial evidence making Alley look guilty?

Throw in a dog named Buddy and a second beach-hunk named Paul and soon this suspense climbs to a chilling and unexpected climax. Can there be a "happily ever after" for Tony and Alley?

This is the second review that I have done on an Amber Skyze beach romance book. I have to say, her stories make me want to rush to the coast and catch myself a hunk like her characters. If only I could reel them in like our heroine does! This tale was as HOT as a July summer beach day! I really enjoyed the fact that we got a suspenseful adventure that kept this reader captivated. Amber Skyze did a great job at setting up a scenario that not only peaks your curiosity, but also keeps you sitting on pins and needles at the end, wondering if our heroine can be saved in time.

What more can a gal want in a short story romance? Sex On the Beach has great location, two sexy characters, a villain and a plot. When mixed with a talented writer, you have the ingredients for a possible best seller.

    more from this reviewer

    Not a bad book.

I was looking for a short, quick read when I picked up Sex on the Beach, and that is exactly what I got. The story is about 100 pages with a pretty simple plot. Allie is on vacation and happens to be living next to undercover cop, Tony. Tony's looking for a drug dealer, but gets distracted by Allie. This about covers the first 3/4 of the book -- Tony and Allie and a whole lot of hot sex. The last 1/4 of the book wraps up the really under-developed plot line of Tony's cop job and the local drug dealer he is trying to arrest.

So, you can probably tell I had a couple issues with the book. First, Tony's an undercover cop. Yet, he totally let's Allie distract him from his job. In fact, before she knew about his job, he was willing to throw all that he's worked toward out the window for a roll in the sand with Allie. I find that hard to swallow. Wouldn't a man who has trained to be a cop and is good enough at his job to actually go undercover have better self-control? And without spoiling the story (I hope!), he also makes another major blunder, which amazed me and I sat there shaking my head when Allie accepted it with little fuss.

And then there is the plot. The basic plot line is good. And Amber Skyze has a way with a sex scene (grab an ice cold drink). But as I came to the end of the book, I was left with an unfulfilled feeling. It seemed to wrap up too neatly and the first half of the book was disconnected from the second half. This is one book that could definitely benefit from a few more pages to fill in some blanks in the plot.
