Overview

Sexology, the art and science of helping other people with their sexual problems, has been an integrated part of every culture as long as we have recordings. In India, China, Japan, Tibet and most Buddhist countries we have the tradition of tantra working directly for sexual healing. In Europe we have the Hippocratic tradition of sexology, used for healing hysteria and other mental illnesses, which in old Greece was understood as disorders so closely related to sexuality that only a sexological treatment could cure them. We have sources of sufficient quality to know for sure that the old Hippocratic sexological manual procedures have been in intensive use by the physicians for more than 2000 years. We have written this book to help students and practitioners of medicine and sexology to understand the theory, practise, and ethics of classical and modern sexology. The book contains all you need to know to succesfully practice both the old and the new, powerful tools for sexual healing. Clinical research has documented these methods useful in the treatment of the wide range of sexual dysfunctions and chronic genital and pelvic pain syndromes seen in the medical, gynecological and sexological clinic.
