Features: The book has virtually doubled in size since the last edition in 1999, reflecting the wealth of scientific data that has been generated since then. The introduction lists examples of major developments in the STD/HIV field over this time period. The chapters now contain color illustrations and, as with the previous edition, continue to be extensively referenced. In addition to updates to chapters on all STDs and HIV, new chapters have been added covering drug use and STDs, cervical cancer and STDs, pregnancy and bacterial STDs, and others.
