Meet the Author

The author, Galia Sabbag, is a veteran Hebrew teacher of over 15 years at The Davis Academy, a Reform Jewish Day School in Atlanta Ga.
During her years of teaching, she came across profound examples of how school affects families and their home life and how children grow in Jewish knowledge and spirituality. By witnessing these "aha" moments and/or by listening to parents' and grandparents' anecdotes, a series of stories emerged, and became lovable "Shira". She is the culminating sum of all Mrs. Sabbag's students throughout the years all put together. Most of the stories in the series are true stories that happen to actual students meshed with the author's creativity.

This book is AMAZING! My son and I have re-read it four times. This is the start of a series and we cannot wait to read more!! Every child should read this and have this book in their library!! GREAT BOOK!

I just LOVED the book. The kids were interested the whole time, joined the blessings and sang the songs they love to sing every Shabbat. The book is so "straight forward" and the kids felt as if Shira was one of them.... Thanks Galia, and good luck!
