Radford and Evelyn's story is full of emotion. Family ties are put to the test through this 575 page read. Love conquers all..... Great love story.

Knowing he needs the help of his estranges family, he returns to his hometown of Fredonia, New York desperate to provide a nurturing environment for his motherless child. He promised the youngster never to leave her again as even a few seconds apart mean apprehension and resignation of being abandoned for the frightened lass.
The first person he sees upon reaching the family saw mill is childhood friend Evelyn Tucker dressed in breeches. Evelyn is engaged to Radford¿s brother, Kyle, the dependable sibling. However, first Rebecca and then Radford reach her heart as she falls in love with the woe-some twosome. Father and daughter reciprocate her feelings, but her close friend Kyle is his sibling and her fiancé leaving any relationship between them potentially destroying a delicate balance of a fragile little girl.
This powerful Reconstruction Era romance will remind readers of Elvis¿ Love Me Tender . The story line is loaded with passion and emotion, at times quite overwhelming for the audience, as guilty consciences, silent accusations, and pointed recriminations cause frictional relationships. The cast makes award winning Wendy Lindstrom¿s tale into a triumph for Americana historical romance readers who relish a character study that hopefully leads to sequels set in Fredonia.

I got the book because it was free and was happy to pay for the rest. I loved that Wendy has more of the brothers, I fell in love withn them all.. Very well written and warmed my heart, a slow burn that drawls you in so that you feel for all her charters not just the main ones. Cant wait to read the other books.

Enjoyed reading a story that has great characters and not too graphic. I bought the rest and think the entire series will be just as good! I will look forward to more books by Ms. Lindstrom in the future.

One of the 1st reason for choosing this book was because it was free, but it turned out to be such a good book, I purchased the other three that were in the series.

so I purchased the rest of the books. Story in the other books is about the other brothers.
Really good to read, not boring at all.
Hope this review helps and you will enjoy it as much as I did.
5 Stars (reason that I mention it. it has happened to me several times, that I gave a book 5 Stars and only 1 Star showed up. not fair to the Author.

I fell in love with the Grayson Brothers, and this was the first I read. (And I 'bought' it because if was 'free'-- )
Radford has dark secrets, and has a difficult time overcoming them. He believes himself to be a coward, has horrible nightmares about the civil war, and has fallen in love with his brothers fiancee, and has problems fitting back into his brothers' lives. A wonderful love story of brothers, and their women, that kept me turning pages, anxious for the next scene. Will continue to read the other Grayson Brothers' stories!
