I had an old very beaten up, pages missing copy that was my Mom's when she was a kid. I was thrilled when I found out they re-printed it. The only issue I had is that the origial was not edited to fit in the new material. Like how long it had been since the last time they had problems with goblins. Little things but it did detract some from the story, Overall I really enjoyed it and am so happy to have a copy I am not afraid will fall apart in my hands when I turn the page! :)

It brought me back to my childhood and back to my adulthood on a slow ride of imagination.I highly recommend this book to the people who want to take a ride to meet the shadows of friendship and love.

I found this book in our basement when I was little. I really liked it and I still do. I read it to my little brother once and he even liked it. It's a great book.

This book made me believe in fairies. I first read it when I 10 years old and reread it many times after. I'm 43 now and still have the book. Its' pages are yellowed and fragile looking. It is one of my most precious momentos.I have been waiting to share it with my 6 year old daughter. Over the years I have looked for copies to give to my god-daughters and friends daughters to share the magic with them. I'm so delighted to find it has been published again. Tomorrow I plan to get my fairy enchanted daughter her own copy.Like her mother she believes in magic.

Like others who reviewed this book, I loved it as a child. I am now 46 with four grandchildren. My copy was lost over twenty years ago in a move, and I have had to rely on my memory to share the stoies of Mika, Gloria and their children with my daughters and granddaughter. I have searched used book stores and tried to have it special ordered in the past. My husband and children have tried to find it for me. Now I have a copy for myself and one for my 6 year old granddaughter, but I'm going to buy three more for my teenage nieces. They may be "too old" for it right now, but they will want to read this to their own children someday!

I am 43 years old and read this book in 3rd grade. I saved mine for my children to read and it has survived many moves and many attic storages. I wanted to get another one "just in case" my old one should ever disappear. My children are about to start reading it and I am so excited. I must have read it about 50 times growing up. If only I could step into the pages.........

I first discovered Shadow Castle when rummaging through my book shelf. It was tearing from being read so much and when I read it, it became my favorite. I read it over and over. That was 2 years ago, and I'm still reading this excellent, joyus novel by Marian Cockrell!!

I first read this book when I was in 2nd grade. It was an old copy that I found at Goodwill. When I was in fourth grade, I loaned it to a frind and never got it back. I was heartbroken. I have searched for it ever since. I just got a computer and thought, why not, it can't hurt too look. I found it with in seconds. I can remember reading this over and over again, as soon as I would get done, I would start all over again. I am so glad I can have this to read again and to save for my kids. I am going to get a copy for my 1 year old cousin to have when she's older as well. This old friend has been a wonderful memory to pull on for stories, even in all the years that I did not have it to read. After all these years, my best friend is coming home!!!

I found my first copy rummaging through a basement in my house. I must admit, I found the cover quite enchanting and found its contents even more so! I first read it in the 4th or 5th grade, I believe. It was the lovliest fairy tale I had ever read and still is! I should know, I've read enough to fill a library! To find out that this treasure is back in print and that there were others just like me who found it memorable all these years is amazing! I'm so glad to have found others who've also been captured by this book's charming and magical tale. I cannot wait to get my hands on the author's edition. I have always wondered if there was more to the story! I have dreamt myself into its story and of the many possible endings! What a sequel this book could produce! I recommend this book for all readers of all ages and times. Its universal magic is absolutely magnificent!

I have searched the local library system for years trying to find this book. I was starting to think it was all in my imagination! I'm so happy to see that it is back in print. Thank-you internet!! I read this book when I was in the 6th grade. It was my favorite book of all time. I never owned a copy, but I, too wanted to read it to my kids. Don't think they'd be too interested at 20, 17, and 13(a boy). But I have 2 little nieces!!! Get this book!

The first time that I read this book I must have been 12 years old. I read it so many times that it started to fall apart. I then passed it to my sister who also read it several times, by the time my youngest sister got it the front cover and last page were missing. After all these years she still has it, I was amazed!! When she found that it was in print again she ordered us both a copy. I can't wait to share it with my children and grandchildren. And for my sister she will finally get to read the last page. Awesome find and excellant reading!!!

I am so excited to see this book back in print! I too first read this story as an enthralled 9yr old 4th grader in the 60's, purchased from Scholastic Book Club Services. I still have my original paperback copy. Although I would never part with it, I am buying the hardcover version right now for my grandchildren. It is quite simply the most magical and delightful fairy tale ever written & I should know because I've read them all!

I have been searching for a reprint for years. I grew up reading my sister's paperback copy over and over again. I always wished that I could visit the castle. If you are considering buying this book,PLEASE DO! You will not be disappointed.

I remember my mom calling bookstores in every state when I was in 4th grade looking for this book, she'd read it when she was my age and wanted me to read it as well. She used to tell me about Flumpdoria and all the characters. She couldn't find it anywhere, and when I was in 6th grade she gave up looking. Six years later I remembered the name of the book and am happily surprised to find it at bn.com.. My mom's gonna flip out when I surprise her with it on her birthday, and I'm looking forward to reading it and seeing what all the fuss is about as well.. If my mom's opinion is any indication, this is a really good children's book that everyone should buy.
