    Great Story

I read this one and then Echoes of Magic, and am surprised people liked Echoes better than this one. This by far is a better suspenseful story. Both are good, but this one has more story, some good sex scenes, where Echoes is less on the story and a lot of sex. (Ljb)

    Magical

In Shadow Magic we are introduced to the world of the bana-bhuidseach. A bana-bhuidseach is a witch, but these witches have been cursed to forever be alone. If a witch ever allows herself to love she will lose that love forever.

We met our first witch Serena in Shadow Magic. She is a very loved and cared for witch in her community, but she longs for something that she can never have. Love. The one thing that she will never allow herself to do. She saw what loving and losing did to her mother and vows to never fall in love. But sometimes fate has other things in mind.

Lord Drogan of Wolfglynn has come to visit one of his very best friend to help him celebrate his new child. Drogan is extremely happy for his friend, but can¿t keep the darkness at bay even with the happiness for his friend. That is until he meets the amazingly beautiful Serena. She changes everything.

Drogan and Serena set out on a journey of a life time in order to help keep their friends safe. The only goal is to get friends and infant child safely to Wolfglynn where they will be better protected from the evil that is after them. But even as they fight the evil after them Drogan and Serena can¿t fight what they feel for each other.

I am so glad that Donna re-released her Sister of Magic Series. I really enjoyed learning about this new world of good vs. evil. This was a really good book. I am looking forward to book 2 Echoes ofMagic and book 3 Dangerous Magic.

    A Must Read

    Historical, England

Serena of Hawthorne is a witch that has been cursed. Serena knows that her future entails her being alone. She has accepted her future even if she wishes there was a way to change that. That was before she saw Drogan and started wanting more than she has let herself want before. Now that he has stirred a passion in her that will not be denied she has to decide what she can live with and accept.

Drogan of Wolfglynn has a lot of secrets and sins in his past that has left him with a darkness inside him. Drogan now fears that he is losing himself to the darkness and that he will never escape it. The only time he feels the darkness leaving him is when he is with Serena. Drogan has to decide if he is willing to take a chance on the future with Serena or if he is going to allow the darkness to claim him once and for all.

Now Drogan and Serena are going to have to see if they can find a way to conquer the past so that they can have the future they both so desperately want now that they have found each other. If they are going to have a future they are both going to have to trust in the love they have found with each other. Otherwise they will not have the promising future that suddenly seems within their grasp.

This is an excellent story that is the first in a trilogy that is sure to please readers of historical stories. The imagery comes to vivid life as the story unfolds and draws the reader in. This is a story that has several twists that will keep the reader guessing as to what will be revealed next. The plot is well written and definitely worth reading. This one will have readers eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.

Sweet Story from a Great Author

I love everything Donna Grant writes. this series had intense passion and I liked that the characters gave into that passion rather than waiting for the "proper time" or waiting for a bed. It was a nice change.

An unusual, but intriguing paranormal romance novel.

Serena is a witch, one of the few left of her dying kind. She has spent her entire life trying to guard her heart and protect herself from the heartache of the curse that has plagued her people. Lord Drogan is a Knight, a warrior haunted by the darkness of his past. He holds within himself dark secrets of past sins that keep him alone and fighting back the inevitable darkness. Neither has any interest in finding love but fate brings them together in a quest to save the lives of their common friends. Serena has visions of the future and knows what she must do to save the lives of an innocent family. Despite the frailties that come with being a witch, she sets off on a journey with Drogan intent on saving her friends at any cost. But Drogan's undeniable loyalty and kindness along with the overwhelming attraction between them distract them both in ways neither can fathom. Past secrets, new found alliances, and incomparable strength of will pave the road on their incredible journey to stop the evil that has come to claim the lives of their friends as well as Drogan. Love finds a way to creep into the equation however, and carefully formed plans become unraveled as Drogan and Serena fall for one another. To say in the least, this novel was unique in its interpretation of Witches and evil. The characters were well developed and made it easy to grow involved with them and the storyline was interesting and kept me turning the pages. I will say I thought there was a few too many sex scenes but overall I enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading the follow up novels.
